She ran, losing her breath. The snow unfriendly as she traveled through it, her body shivering. The ice under her had her slipping farther from the scene, the warm village in the distance. The blue leafs of the trees shook in the wind, unforgiving and powerful.

"How am I supposed to trust you now?" The words rang in her ears, this was for the best.

Petra's own words left her this time "because you promised me we would be together through thick and thin" if only she had said that instead.

The moons shed little light through the forest, but what they did had turned the snow blue. She watched her surroundings with a fast eye, hopefully no spirits would follow her she wasn't sure she could handle that tonight.

Through the loud winds a noise could be heard however, no bird as loud as it. Her movements quickened, this was not the time to calm a restless pegasus looking for a human to feed them.

The river wasn't too far away, so at the very least she could maybe able to skate to a nearby village before word spreads too far out. She needed a place to rest even if it was just for a moment in time, soon she'd get to The Cypresses hide out but as for now to head miles out in the dead of night seemed impossible.

The howl of prowling wolfs filled the air, did they really not trust her that much? Petra almost laughed, the last one was definitely Mylins person wolf dog, Sayrou. That puppy wouldn't hurt her even if the woman commanded it to, she was almost certain of that.

A shaken breath left her, that part of her soul that loved her home missing it already. Yet she would probably never be allowed to see it again. Tears rolled down her face turning to ice as they hit the frozen water below her feet.

Her eyes opened to the smell of bear meat, the dream of a distant and fleeting memory leaving her. Years had past since that time, and those memories didn't mater any more, at least Petra hoped they didn't.

"Hey Bitchra wake up!" A small fox plush was thrown at her, though before it could hit her in the head it was batted out of the air.

"Shut it, Barbarian" Petra sat up grabbing the thing to chuck it back at Aria, to which it hit him in chest. Landing in between the twos spots on the pillow covered floor.

"So rude Bitchra, it's no wonder the squad calls you that~" he teased with a laugh leaning onto his arm, still laying down under the large blanket fort the two were in. "Gigi mentioned something about us going on a mission far from home, so," he stretched a bit "unless you want to miss breakfast we should probably go" he yawned.

Petra looked around the fort, the rest of the group was gone, she pulled back the soft blanket crawling out with a yawn of her own.

The room was lit by lanterns that hung upon chains, it was warm enough, living underground had that advantage at the very least.

She was quick to open the door into the hall, not bothering to change into daytime clothes "Saffron give it back that's mine!" One of the newer members of the team practically screamed.

Saffron, who stood on one of the tables didn't say a word, their glowing eyes watching their underling with amusement. The small blanket just out of reach of the other.

They were both knocked from the table when a spoon went flying across the dining hall hitting the older in the head. "Keep your feet off my tables, Spirit!" A loud roar shouted, silencing most of the room, eyes landing on the figure.

Who, despite what they had just said, had their legs propped up on the table, leaned back in their chair. Leather material adorning them along with a cloak made of fluffy yak fur dark in color. Silver ringed fingers and dark black nails running through the coils of her long hair. Sybra, Leader of The Cypress.

Petra ignored the shock of some in the room however, taking her seat at table number fourteen. Only a newer member could possibly be shaken by such a voice.

Aria spoke "Did you collect our mission yet?" Gigi who had her mouth full didn't say anything in response a simple shake of the head enough to get the point across. Fenix who was also at the table didn't seem to be up for talking this morning, he stared at the two late comers with a sense of annoyance.

"I'll get it just eat god damnit." Petra said followed by a sigh as Gigi was about to get up.

"Gee fucking gee, Bitchra calm your tits, if it's such a bother then let me do it!" Gigi argued, but the girl was already on her way over to Sybra.

Once she made her way to the main table she asked her "Mission for squad fourteen, please" They put down the file.

"Have fun with that," Sybra looked at Petra as she began to leave only to stop her "and if this mission goes uncompleted, you can say good bye to your home in The Cypress"

Petra gulped, looking over her shoulder with anger as she headed back to the group, "So which one did we get?" Aria asked her taking the file into his hands to look it over.

"I haven't looked at it yet" she said sitting down to eat the food on plate, picking up the bowl of soup to drink it down with ease.

Fenix looked over Arias shoulder, reading over the top part, a gasp escaping him. His deep voice permeating the air for a moment "That's insane, is she trying to get us killed?"

"She told me that if we dont complete it we are out of the guild" Petra said food still in her mouth making the words run together a bit.

"What!?" Gigi dropped her spoon, looking to Sybra with rage.

"Yeah," Petra didn't look up from what she was doing "She just said that after handing it to me, so I'm not sure what's up with her"

Aria spoke "she wants us to head out into the east, to get rid of the leader of the armies out there" he looked like he was going to start crying just reading over the papers.

Gigi didn't seem to feel the same her anger didn't stop, her fists hit the table as she stood, marching away from the table and to their leader, Fenix grabbed her hand. "Do you want to get killed, sit your ass down." He scolded.

"Come on, we have shit to do," Petra finally said standing up herself, pulling the group back to their room to get their shit in peace. Away from the noisy dining hall that seemed to never shut up.

"How are you so calm about this, Petra?" Gigi asked so seriously that she used the girls actual name instead of the demeaning nickname she usually did for her.

"Simple, Sybra want's that assholes head, I'll bring it to her, she wants to push us out so let's prove to her we should be the ones The Cypress fears!" She was throwing stuff into her bag with a loud sigh. This day couldn't be worse could it?

"I'll go get our pegasuses ready for the journey, make sure to grab my plant jurnal." Fenix told them walking away without packing up, Gigi rolled her eyes at him setting clothes for them both in her bag. The less they have to carry, the better.

Aria was making quick time on the blanket fort, grabbing their beds off the floor to pack them up into a dark leather bag.

The second everyone was done in the room they headed to met back up with Fenix in the stables. "Took you three long enough." he was braiding the blue haird ones main placing a Magnolia on it.

"No thanks to you," Petra rolled her eyes, jumping up quickly with only one hand on the pegasus "You boys can take your time or whatever, Gigi and I actually want to complete this mission." She reached her hand out to the other who took it lifting herself up with ease.

"Damn right we do, Bitchra," She clicked twice sending the pegasus forward flying up out of the hidden stables, they didn't even have time to respond.

Her hand gripped onto Petras side, chin landing on her shoulder "I missed your snarky comments at dinner last night" Gigi whispered.

"I missed you too" her voice was a little monotone, hand landing on the others knee.

"That was so rude you know!" Aria said from not that far behind them, Fenix holding all their stuff in his lap with a grumpy expression.

For once on the same page the girls spoke in unison "Its payback for last mission!"

A silence filled the air for a moment before Aria spoke "...Carets" the group fell into a laughing fit at the inside joke.

Eventually when calm the silence returned this time more focused then before, looking, watching for any signs of others that may cause them trouble.

They probably wouldn't run into anyone up in the sky but being in the air didn't save them from village gaurds in watch towers on the look out for Cypress members and bandits.

At least a half hour had past before any of them were keen to speaking, the noise of birds charming in it's own little way.

"I just had an idea," Gigis voice was soft.

Fenix raised an eyebrow "Thinking is a bad pass time, maybe you shouldn't"

"We could drop one of those pink smokers down to make it hard for the people on the ground to see." She spoke it anyway.

Nodding Aria spoke "that's actually really smart"

"And if it doesn't clear fast enough for us to find and get rid of who we need to?" The other woman asked reaching into her satchel to grab some water.

"That's even better, they cant see were we are coming from, tag them so we can see them through it and finish the job."

"And how would we tag them?" Fenix chimed in.

"Simple, your new little invention."

Fenix scoffed "You mean night light I made for Aria?"

"Yeah that"

Petra laughed "Not bad Gigi," she squeezed the others knee a couple of times "Its small enough that it could just be put on without anyone noticing."

"One problem," Fenix waved his hands around, almost dropping their stuff "how the fuck do you plan to stick it to them?"

Arias eyes lit up, "make it into jewelry"

Fenix didn't seem happy about the revaluation, "and how am I supposed to do that without breaking it?" He said angered.

"I'll wrap it in twine when we settle for the night," Petra smirked giving him a glance "I thought you were the smart one."

"And you're supposed to be the quiet one Bitchra, next time shut your mouth" Fenix growled

Petra smiled "Only if you do next time when you and Thalia decide the bathroom would be a good place to do it." She snickered.

"Oh hush I'm not that loud!" He said annoyed.

"You are"

"All the time everytime"

"She calls you her little foxie"

The rest of the group laughed, and soon enough once the slight embarrassment wore off, Fenix did as well.

When the conversation was done another slew of quiet whispers filled the air, yelling from a village in the distance.

They got to the village not even three minutes later, planning to pass it, that was until-

"Holy shit, those homes are on fire" Gigi said.

"Leave it, we have no reason to get involved" Aria said as they passed by.

Fenix was watching the people down below "theres a child in one of the homes from what I'm hearing." His large white fox ears twitched on his head as he focused.

Petra looked to Aria and he looked back at her giving a small nod before the two sent the pegasus turning around, dashing down so they could help.

Gigi sighed letting go of Petra getting ready to jump down and rush in. "Ready?"

"Of course I am" Petra jumped down rushing across the melting ice. She used her left arm to ram into the door, knocking it open. Aria sliding past her, his cat like eyes looking around through the smoke. Running up the stairs, Petra hot on his tail they searched through the different rooms.

Breaking down the door to one of the many rooms, she seen it, The Crib, pulling the baby from it, and into her arms "Aria!" She yelled "Get out, I've found it."

Before she could even finish he was heading down the now burning stairs, the house was filling with thick black smoke. Petra got close to the ground as she moved a hand over her mouth and nose, coughing as her eyes began to water.

Finally making it to the door in a panic, Fenix pulling her out while, what she assumed to be the childs mother, took the baby.

Falling to the snow trying to cool herself a bit, "My," she coughed "fucking god" Fenix was patting her on the back a worried look as he watched her.

"It's your duty as a protector of this village to do everything you can to protect them, even if that means your life!" Gigi said angered, her fist colluding with the guards face.

"Ginevra!" Aria pulled her away from the man, this was definitely not the time to fight.

Aria was pulling Gigi back to the pegasus while Fenix followed.

Petra on the other hand spoke to the woman for just a moment "next time," she pointed a finger angry before softening "please just keep an eye on her, she needs you" Petra didn't give the woman time to respond before leaving with the group. Now sitting behind Fenix.

A few long hours had passed, the moons now present in the sky, shimmering their blue light. As well as a castle not to far in the distance that told them they were, at least a little bit, closer to finishing the mission.
