“Bye”. Maria said crying and picking her bag.

There was nothing in the bag except from books and foods which she needs to use before she reaches the next country.

She had no plan on which country she was going to, from the book she reads every day she decided she was going to Sao Tome. A small town where only few werewolves were found, they had no leader and therefore couldn’t organize themselves.

They got to the house and met Stacey watering the flowers outside, she saw her daughter walking with some stranger who looked so unkempt and walked up to them.

“Gwen, why don’t you get her water to drink, she looks tired”.

“Mom, can she stay here for a few days before dad comes back? I don't think I want her to go to the missionary home”.

“Oh I see my daughter likes you already” Stacey said referring to Vivian.

“She can stay my dear I hope you don’t trouble her with your questions”

“Hey come inside let me show you my room”.

They went inside and it was time for dinner then they heard the voice of people greeting someone

“Mom I think dad is back, that's his voice, I thought you said he was staying for a few days?

“Darling you are back?

“Hey my love, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you I was coming back today. I tried reaching out to you through a letter But the war was too fierce and it couldn’t get to you, they’re killing children and mothers just to find out who’s the chosen one”.

“That’s so cruel, why will they do such, the prophecy said the chosen one will be a good one and wouldn’t harm anybody “.

“Maybe they’re scared the chosen one will take over power from them”. Gwen chirped in.

“Let’s eat, the food is almost getting cold”.

At night, Mr Stefani and his wife were discussing in whispers, Gwendolyn and Vivian were both sleeping.

“Did you see Shelly?

“Yes, she said the child had left already and she described her to me. I feel the girl inside there is my twin sister’s child, no wonder Gwen loved her the moment she saw her”.

“Poor girl, she didn’t know her mother while growing up, don’t you think we should ask her?

“No, not now, she needs to be relaxed here, if not she’ll be scared of us”.

“Tomorrow she’ll start the same school and class with Gwendolyn, so that she’ll forget about her place easily, staying at home here won’t help, what do you think? Mrs Stacey asked.

“It’s a good idea, I’ll talk to the principal, Shelly said she knows how to play violin, maybe art class will be a good decision”.

Maria’s POV

I woke up the next morning to see Gwendolyn still sleeping, the sun was shining already, why was she sleeping. I heard footsteps approaching and got up from the bed immediately, that might be Mrs Stacey .

“Good morning, ma”.

“Good morning, darling, hope you had enough rest?

“Yes, I did”.

“Tap Gwen to wake up and prepare for school, you two are going to school together, I wonder why she's still sleeping”. She said walking out of the room.

I tapped Gwen and she muttered things I couldn’t understand.

“Ohh, my bad, I must have overslept”.

“Gwennn!!!! Get down here now”. Mrs Stacey shouted.

“Good morning , mom. I’m sorry I overslept, maybe I was dreaming of Vivian”.

“I know right? Come on, here’s your food, make sure you finish it, Vivian here’s yours too, if you’re not satisfied you let me know.

“Thank you ma’am”.

We were in school. The school was meant for gifted kids and werewolves who hadn’t discovered their powers yet.

It was ten minutes to my class, so I decided to take a tour round the school. I was taken to art class, while Gwendolyn was in science, I hated anything science, it was boring.

Was deep in thought when I bumped into someone.

“Watch where you go, you disgust me”.

“isn’t this the new girl we were expecting?

“She’s my sister literally, her country is having a war, so she’s staying with us”.

“Welcome dear, glad to see you”. Jessica said, pulling me into a tight hug that I felt I was breaking.

“It’s nothing, at least that’s the reward for being Gwen’s new partner for talks, I get to rest a bit, the guy you bumped into is Steve, his friend who talked was Trevor, Steve is boyfriend to Casey , the school popular girl”.

“Ohh, I see, such arrogance”.

“Let's get to class Jessica, we’ll see you later Vivian”.
