Outside the city hall.

"Rebecca, I don't think we're suitable for each other. So, I'm sorry I can't marry you." Darrell Beasley looked at her indifferently, as if he was a completely different person than before.

"What did you say?" Rebecca Dixon thought she misheard him.

Last month, he proposed to her. So today, she went behind her family and stole her passport to get married to him. But now, he said that they were not suitable for each other?

"I already have someone I like."

"Who is that person?"

After Rebecca asked, Darrell hesitated for a moment before confessing, "She's your younger sister."

Sister?

How could she have a sister?

Following Darrell's gaze, she saw that his car was parked beside hers, and a woman was sitting in the passenger seat of his car. It was obvious that the woman came here with him. After staring for a moment, Rebecca recognized her. The woman was Jennifer Dixon.

No, that wasn't right.

Instead of calling her Jennifer Dixon, it was better to call her Jennifer Thornton.

After all, her mother was not married into the Dixon family yet.

Rebecca fell silent for a moment, but her expression remained calm. "You like her? Which part of her is better than me?"

"Becca, I was still young when I was pursuing you. I fell in love with you when I saw how sensible and beautiful you were. But after getting to know you, I realize that you are completely different from what I expected. You don't know how to act cute, and we aren't intimate with each other. We are more like good friends than lovers. The more I spend time with you, the more uneasy I felt. It was not until I met Jennifer that I realized what I was missing out on. We slept together that night when we got drunk. I have to take responsibility for her..."

Closing her eyes, Rebecca trembled slightly.

It turned out that they had already slept together.

But, why did he blame it on her when he was the one who cheated?

"Is this your excuse?"

"Not completely... I used to dream of marrying you, but you made me very disappointed. Your family's background is good, but you gave up your company and chose to be a teacher. You know that I have a strong ambition, so we're not suitable for each other as you're uncompetitive," Darrell said in an arrogant tone.

"It's not that we're inappropriate. You value my dad's company more, don't you?"

Actually, Rebecca's complexion was fair and clear, and her face was beautiful as well. At this moment, the corners of her lips were curled up in a mocking smile.

"Darrell, my father loves me, so he never forces me to do anything I don't like. Besides, I'm not a good candidate to take over the company, so he's waiting for me to hand over the company to my husband after I get married."

Stunned, there was an obvious look of surprise in Darrell's eyes.

Rebecca felt her eyes burning.

She really didn't know that he was so dissatisfied with her. If he didn't reveal it to her, maybe they were already legally married now.

What a pity!

Although Darrell took a long time analyzing the situation, he still misjudged.

Because Jennifer lied.

Rebecca was Marcel Dixon's only daughter. Because of her, he had been single for more than ten years. Only half a year ago, she persuaded him to find a wife, as she was afraid that he would be lonely after she got married.

Later, he did so and the woman he found as his wife was Jennifer's mother.

Jennifer's mother bore Jennifer before meeting Rebecca's father, which meant that the two children were not related at all.

As Rebecca rarely mentioned her family's matters when she was in a relationship with Darrell, so he was clueless about this.

Expressionlessly, Rebecca looked at him for a long time. "Since you like my 'younger sister', I won't force you. Let us end this well. But, Darrell, I hope things will go as smoothly as your plan."

The corners of Darrell's mouth twitched. "What do you mean?"

Ignoring him, Rebecca turned to leave.

Darrell was her first boyfriend. Before him, she had no relationship experience. As he said, she did not know how to act cute or affectionate. They had not slept before and even rarely kissed.

However, he was always a gentleman and had never forced her. Last month, he asked for her hand in marriage, and she agreed. But she didn't expect him to sleep with Jennifer in just a blink of an eye.

Since he treated her this way, why did she have to warn him?

Then just accept that all her time went down the drain!

......

When Rebecca passed by Darrell's car, the car window was rolled down. Jennifer looked at her with an apologetic look on her face.

"Rebecca, Darrell has the right to pursue love. We are a family, so I can't bear to keep you in the dark anymore. It's all my fault. Don't blame him..."

Although Rebecca was burning with anger, her expression was cold as she answered, "Alright, if I don't blame him, maybe I'll blame you instead?"

While Jennifer was in a daze, Rebecca took out her phone and sent Marcel Dixon a voice message. "Dad, I'm going back on my words. I don't want you and Ms. Thornton to get married. I don't like her, so, just make her and her daughter move out of our home as soon as possible."
