Han Yue felt as if she was on the cusp of death.

Ever since Gu Jin left, she hadn't had a single timely meal and had been in a haze, not knowing how she was passing her time.

Now, her stomach pain caused her to break out in a cold sweat.

Even though the sun was blazing outside, her heart was blanketed in a layer of ice, no longer capable of feeling warmth.

She had no choice but to curl up her body like a shrimp, only then could she alleviate the pain.

Only one sentence was echoing in her head, "He is getting married tomorrow."

She had lost him after all, lost Gu Jin who took tender care of her.

He was going to marry someone else tomorrow.

The bride was not her, despite waiting for this day for ten years, all because she entered the wrong room, and slept with the wrong man.

But is it really her fault? She clearly entered room 616 in a state of semi-consciousness, then why did it become room 919?

Both of them ended up with the wrong person. Was she the only one who should bear the punishment?

She was in despair.

Over the past few days, she had been roaming around everywhere, trying to find him. People who once treated her kindly now gave her the cold shoulder. Even when they bumped into her, they would avoid any communication.

She just wanted to find him, explain everything to him face to face and apologize.

She didn't know how many times she was scolded by his mother after visiting him repeatedly. She did not believe it. Without seeing him or hearing it from his mouth, she could not believe that in such a short period, he could fall in love with An Xi.

How could their mere three months be compared to their ten years together?

She's determined to find him and sort things out tonight.

Before heading out, she drank a cup of cold water to soothe her uncomfortable throat. It felt as though her throat was smoky, her head heavy, and legs light.

In a foggy state of mind, she took the all-too-familiar path.

Knocking on the door, she prepared for the crushing torrent of insults.

Indeed, it was his mother who answered the door.

Seeing it was her, the mother's face filled with sarcastic pleasure. "Miss Han, have you come to congratulate our Jin?"

The irony stung. Three months ago, he treated her as his daughter, but now he only referred to her as 'Miss Han'.

Her ears buzzed, and she felt even dizzier.

"An An is currently with Jin, isn't she?"

The words from Jin's mother sent a bitter pain through her heart. She managed to steady herself against a wall.

"Now that Miss Han has climbed to a higher branch, I guess you don't need him anymore. He can finally be free after ten years. Have you lost your conscience? How could your repay Jin for his kindness in this way?"

Her words felt like needles piercing her heart, leaving her speechless.

She felt as though she would collapse any second, uttering with a hoarse voice, "I need to see Jin."

"Call him Jin, really? Don't tarnish his name. After all, you two aren't that close anymore, right, Miss Han?"

With the last bit of her strength, Han Yue pleaded, "Auntie, oh, Aunt, please, let me see him, I beg you?"

"Haha, haha, Miss Han is begging? How rare is this! Has the sun risen from the west?" Mrs. Gu laughed out loudly, her laughter echoing with biting sarcasm.

"Auntie, I, I have something important to tell him."

She tried to speak as little as possible, her throat ached, and her head spun even worse.

"Is there anything more important than me wanting to see my grandson?" Mrs. Gu persisted.

"Do you want him to be even more humiliated? To hurt him more? To wear an even greener hat?" Mrs. Gu interrogated incessantly.

"When will you let Ah Jun off the hook?" Mrs. Gu asked impatiently.

In a weak voice, Han Yue said: "I, I didn't, I just want him to know the truth."

She pinched her palm hard, trying to stay conscious.

Mrs. Gu sneered, "Hehe, the truth? Do you think that he will still believe your words, or see you?"

"Things are not what you think!" She shouted out her grievances.

Seeing Han Yue dare to yell at her, Mrs. Gu's eyes turned blood red, "Who? Do you want to bare his bleeding wounds? Are his wounds not big enough? Do you want to rub salt into them?"

Han Yue was on the verge of fainting, her ears buzzing incessantly. Driven by instinct, she replied, "No, I was forced."

"How much of what you're saying can be trusted? How many lies have you told? Perhaps only the gullible Ah Jun would believe, wouldn't he?" Seeing her persistent insistence on seeing Ah Jun, Mrs. Gu grew impatient.

Mrs. Gu started to shoo her away, saying, "No need to find him, he's not here. Go away, the farther the better, don't ever let us see you again."

As she spoke, she was about to close the door. Han Yue, drawing on strength from God knows where without having eaten for several days, forcefully held the door, clinging to her last piece of hope.

"Auntie, Auntie, ah??!!" Han Yue let out a pained scream.

"Pain." Real pain, piercing to the bone marrow.

Her hand was caught in the door. Watching with naked eyes her fingers turning blue and swelling at an alarming rate, and even the fingernails filling with blood, she tearfully pleaded for a chance to see him.

He came out of that familiar room, glanced at her hand, and then returned to his usual aloof demeanor. In a deep voice, he said, "You should leave. It's better we not meet again. I owe you an apology. And please, be happy."

"Ah Jun, just listen to me," she said, struggling with every word.

Unable to bear the pain in his heart, Gu Jun, after a few internal struggles, ruthlessly cut her off, saying, "Xiao Yue, no matter what you say now, it's too late. I'm sorry, I had no other choice."

Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked at him. He turned his head, refusing to look at her.

With a chilling voice, Gu Jun said: "Take care, goodbye."

With a loud bang, he slammed the door shut.

Also closing the door on her hopes with him.

Closing off those hurried times they had together.
