"So, someone hit and turned me into a fool? And I've been a stay-at-home husband for all of six years? This is simply preposterous!"

With violent spasms in his face, Gavin Quinnell, who had just recovered his memory, could not find his words.

It was six years ago that he had encountered a problem during his martial arts practice and had been on the verge of derangement.

What had started as a plan to find a peaceful place in Landale City to meditate and recover turned into a car accident in his semi-conscious state.

The person who had been behind the wheel was his now wife.

The top beauty of Landale City, Arielle Wales.

The collision had scattered the already disordered inner energy within him; it had not only locked his spirit but also caused him to lose his senses, giving him an intellectual disability.

It was not until this day, which was six years later, that his body had completed its self-healing.

While his power had not fully returned to its peak state, at least he had recovered his intellectual ability.

A third-rate family in Landale City, the Wales family was at the bottom among the major families. However, on this day, the head of the Wales family, Howard, had reserved the second floor of the Hotel International Millevale to celebrate Arielle’s birthday.

At this time, the entire second-floor hall was bustling with life, with glasses clinking and emptying.

"Gavin, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

When a gentle voice sounded beside his ear, Gavin slowly turned his head and revealed his still dull expression.

He silently looked at Arielle.

The woman wore light makeup, and with her black hair piled up behind, she was the picture of elegance and poshness.

She was dressed in a tailored evening gown that perfectly covered her from head to toe, only revealing a fair neck. However, it did nothing to hide her elegant and slender figure.

Upon her appearance, the entire hall's guests were naturally drawn to her.

Such was the charm of the city's most beautiful woman—enchanting, unparalleled, and exceptional in every way.

Wherever she was, she was always the most radiant presence.

Looking at his wife who had married the mentally handicapped him for six years and now seemed to be about to divorce him, Gavin found it absurd. His feelings were a mix of joy and sorrow he could not articulate.

Arielle's face, lightly dusted with makeup, was filled with worry. "You're not used to these sorts of events; you know, maybe I should take you home."

Six years ago, she had accidentally severely injured Gavin while driving her best friend to the military.

Gavin had been on the brink of death at that time. She kept watch at his bedside for a week until he woke up, but he became a simpleton who did not understand anything.

The only things Gavin had on him were a card and an ID, but she had searched the entire country without finding any of Gavin's relatives.

Guilt ate away at Arielle, which was why despite her family's opposition, she married Gavin and took care of him for six years as his wife.

However, having such a simpleton join the Wales family was a prelude to ostracism and an onslaught of disdain.

Now, the Wales family had fallen. Even keeping up appearances of as a formerly prestigious but now mediocre family was a struggle. To save the family, her parents used every means necessary, including marrying her to the young heir of the Hotel International Millevale, Flynn Edwards.

This day was purportedly her birthday celebration, but in reality it was merely for this marriage alliance.

This day, in front of all relatives and friends, she was to divorce Gavin.

But Arielle was unwilling to do so.

She looked at Gavin, who was always so innocent and naive. Even when laughed at or abandoned by his wife, his smile remained pure. Suddenly, her eyes reddened.

If she wasn't around to care for him in the future, Gavin, being a naïve man, could end up on the streets, jumping out of one hell into another, and possibly an even worse hell.

Thinking of this, Arielle held Gavin's hand and muttered to herself, "I'm sorry. You ended up like this because of me, and now I’m asking for a divorce... After tonight, I'll give you a big sum of money. I hope you can live a good life..."

"Arielle, here you are. Oh, my not-at-there brother-in-law is here too..."

As Arielle was about to take Gavin home, a man in a bright red suit, hair slicked with gel, and a joyous face walked over.

He spoke loudly, attracting attention from others as soon as he started talking.

Upon seeing this person, Gavin’s eyes slightly narrowed, exhibiting a fleeting chill.

He was Benedict Wales, the youngest son of Arielle’s uncle and an arrogant dandy.

It was true that many people in the Wales family didn't like Gavin, but it was only because of his “simple-minded” status, thinking he was not good enough for Arielle.

But for the past six years, Benedict had always found pleasure in mocking and disrespecting him.

If it were not for Arielle, he would have been killed by Benedict long ago.

Like now, as soon as Benedict came up close, without a word he reached out to grab Gavin's ear.

"What are you doing? Let go!"

Arielle abruptly got up and stood in front of Gavin, glaring intensely at Benedict.

"Yo, I just wanted to have a little fun with my brother-in-law. I won't do anything to him."

He laughed dismissively. "Your pa asked for you some time ago, yet you're only going to him now. If you don't go soon, he might be pissed off."

Arielle furrowed her brow, seemingly hesitant.

In the end, she breathed a sigh of resignation and turned to Gavin, saying softly, "I should go see Father first. Stay here and wait for me. Remember what I have told you..."

Gavin nodded. "Eat and drink, and don't say much."

Arielle corrected him. "Eat and drink, and don't say anything. Remember, if anyone picks on you, come find me."

With that, she hurried off.

As soon as Arielle was gone, a gleeful grin spread across Benedict's face.

"You idiot, now that she's gone, there's no one to protect you. Come, kneel and clean my shoes with your tongue!"

Saying so, he reached out to push Gavin's head down.

However, just as he was about to exert his strength, he felt a strong grip on his hand, twisting it sharply.

Snap!

Benedict let out a wail of agony as a sharp pain shot through his hand.

"You, a worthless dandy, have humiliated me for six years. You deserve to die a thousand times over!"

There was a deathly chill in Gavin's gaze; his voice seemed to echo from the depths of hell, sending chills down one's spine.

"You..."

Benedict's divine soul shuddered violently, abruptly halting its cry. He could hardly believe his own eyes.

His involvement immediately drew the attention of everyone.

Everyone present were well-known figures in Landale City's surface, all aware of the ins and outs.

One by one, they were dumbfounded, not knowing where a mentally-impaired son-in-law found the audacity to beat up a Wales.

Could this fool have gone through another spurt of madness again?
