Have you ever thought about if you could go back in time? How far back would you go or what you would even do there? I've thought about this topic my entire life. I wished that I could go back and change things. Maybe just change small and inconvenient things or maybe change things drastically. Anyways, the whole point is that I could just change something but life went on. Time travel isn't possible no matter how much I wish it was. It will never be real and I have to accept that.

Well, to start off, I should probably tell you about my life. Hi, I'm Mae Markley. If you couldn't tell already, I am indeed the main protagonist of this story. No need to worry though, more people will come in later. Now you might be thinking something along the lines of, "this story is going to be boring since we are just reading about her life story" and you're not wrong but there's something extraordinary about my life. I can't tell you what that is right now but I gave you some clues as to what's going to happen in the future. I promise that this is something you will want to stay and read.

"Hey mom, have you seen my blue hoodie anywhere? I can't find it and I need it for work."

"Mae how many times do I have to remind you that it's in the dryer. I washed it for you last night."

"Thanks mom," I said as I walked down stairs to get my hoodie.

I grabbed my hoodie and went back upstairs to finish getting ready for work. I had already done most of it, all I had left to do was pack my work bag and go off to my lovely job. Sike, as if it's lovely. I hate every moment of it but I stay because I like the people and the pay isn't so bad for my age. Once I turn 18 though, I plan on getting a better job. Maybe it's not the best idea but I plan on being a bartender at a strip club. I don't like the idea of being an actual stripper so that's why I settled on bartending.

"I'm leaving for work! I'm closing tonight so I'll be home late!" I shouted to my mom who was across the house.

"Alright, have a good day at work honey, love you!" She shouted back to me.

"Love you too!" I said as I walked out the front door.

I always leave the house 40 minutes before work starts because for one, I have to sit in my car for 10 minutes so it can heat up in the winter and two because I have to mentally prepare myself 20 minutes in advance before I start my shift. I sat in my cold ass car and waited for it to heat up and then took off. I only live like 5 maybe 10 minutes away from my job so it doesnt take long to get there.

As soon as I pull into a parking spot and park my car, I get a call from Ethan.

"Mae, Mae, you will not believe what happened at work today!"

Ethan is one of my best friends and I actually met him when I first started here. He just quit a few weeks ago because he got a better job offer somewhere else. He works mornings while I work nights but he still calls me for the 20 minutes before I clock in.

"I have no idea, what happened?" I said back to him.

Me and Ethan have a very complicated relationship. No one knows what we have going on and frankly, I dont either. I had a huge crush on him when I first started but he had a girlfriend at the time but it didn't last very long. He broke up with her a few weeks later and then started showing more interest in me. Some things happened between us but it turns out that I was just getting played. Not that big of a deal, I kept being friends with him. This happened a year and a half ago and now its happening again. I still like him so I go along with it hoping that one day it'll get better and we will form an actual relationship but I have no idea if that will actually happen knowing Ethan.

"and then no one was even there when I went to drop off the material! Like why send me 40 minutes out there to drop this shit off and know that no ones going to be there? I'm just so excited to finally go home and relax" Ethan said.

"That definitely is a day. I dont know what to tell you but yeah at least you can go home now and not have to worry about it anymore. Sadly, I still have to go to work" I responded back.

"Oh shit yeah you do. Haha you still gotta work today. Sucks to be you" Ethan mocked at me.

"Actually, it really sucks to be you. At least I dont have to drive 40 minutes out of my way for nothing. I just gotta serve these stupid customers like I do everyday. Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta go clock in" I said back.

"Alright, have fun at work. I'll talk to you tomorrow"

"Sounds like a plan, bye Ethan" I said as I hung up the phone. Now I actually have to go into work and deal with this misery.

I walked in and luckily all of my friends were working which is good cause I can at least have somewhat of a good day with them here. I walked to the back and into the break room and saw Jas sitting there.

"Yo Jas you work today too? This is perfect then. It should be a pretty good day then" I said talking to her.

"Sadly I do work today. But you gotta see what I got at the mall yesterday. I forgot to send you a photo of it but I got it all at Spencer's. Here look" Jas said as she handed me a bunch of jewelry.

"Okay wait, these are actually so cool. Guess I'm gonna have to go to Spencer's and buy some myself. Wanna come with me Wednesday since we are both off?" I asked her.

"Yeah of course! But we gotta bring Jacob and Eli too" she responded.

"Well duh of course! Why wouldn't they come? Alright you ready to clock in for a shift of hell?" I said.

"Not really but I have no choice" Jas said sadly.

We clocked in and went on about with work. Just a normal day as it always is and has been.
