I'm a sucker for love. I've always been that way. I've always imagined meeting that special someone and riding blissfully into happily ever after.

But I'd realized that the rest of the world didn't share my idealistic outlook. Not everyone was looking for love that would last forever. I knew there were plenty of people who were only interested in a booty call and were perfectly content to leave it at that.

However, I had finally found love. At the same time, I was high and at ease with him.

Kade was his name. We had known each other since we were infants. Our mothers had always desired that we be together.

Today, however, is my wedding day, and I am marrying Kade, the man of my dreams.

I looked in the full-length mirror at myself. The long white gown with the lace bodice and matching lace sleeves. The veil cascaded gracefully over my shoulders.

I smiled, and the girl in the mirror returned my smile. She was radiant. Her brown skin stood out against the white gown. I look so stunning and I finally feel contented.

The suddenly door swung open unexpectedly. I yelped and spun away from the mirror, stunned.

Kade stood in front of me, wearing only jeans and a T-shirt.

"Kade!" I screamed, my mouth agape. "How come you aren't dressed? In an hour, the wedding will begin. And you aren't even allowed to see me before the ceremony."

I moved quickly, desperately looking for a hiding place.

"No, Jane, there's no need for that," he said, coming to a halt in front of me.

"What exactly do you mean?"

I looked at him, perplexed. I am confused to what he really mean.

"We need to talk about it." He said.

With those four words, my heart sank. I could tell what he was going to say. The determined set of his teeth, the cold, distant look in his eyes.

*No way, Kade. No, please.Tell me I'm just overthinking.* I said in my mind.

I mustered the courage to speak up. "What do you mean?"

"I don't think we should get married," he said, looking at me, then at the ground, then back at me.

It was as if the wind had been sucked out of me. I couldn't get enough oxygen. My eyes were blurred with tears, but I pushed them back as I looked at him. My gut was churning with the sensation of betrayal.

“Why? What do you mean by that? Please explain it slowly to me so that I could understand." I muttered, my voice strange to me.

He sighed and ruffled his hair with his fingers.

"Because we've just grown apart, Jane. You're...I mean...I just realized that you're not the one for me. And I'm not...the one for you."

I could tell what he was really saying but what I don't understand is why now, on our wedding day?

"Is there someone else?" Kade look at me, guilt in his eyes and then he nodded his headed as he look down on the floor.

"Yes." He answered and my chest tighten.

"Why do you have to be like this? Kade, we've been together for 8 years. It's 8 years Kade. And now that we are finally settling down, your gonna tell me that we don't belong to each other. That's a freaking absurd idea Kade." I said looking at him in anger.

He heaved a sighed. "I know, I know I'm at fault. But what can I do about it? I don't have feelings for you anymore."

"Please, Kade. Don't do this to me. We've been together for 8 years. We've encountered so many problems in our relationship, and yet we didn't give up with each other because we promise, we promise to ourselves that we'll stay together no matter what happens. So please, Kade. Dont leave me. I will do everything. I will forget what you just said earlier and pretend that you didn't say it. Just please." I begged to him.

Kade shook his head. "No, Jane. If we'll continue this, we will just hurt each others feelings. That's why I'm ending this now."

"Who exactly is she?" I inquired.

Kade looked at me, perplexed. “What? " he inquired.

"The girl you're in love with now," I mumbled, exhausted. "Who exactly is she?" ”

He looked at me for what seemed like an eternity before saying, "Sasha."

My jaw dropped, and my knees couldn't keep me upright any longer. In agony, I dropped to my knees.

Sasha? Sasha is one of my closest friends. My best friend since first grade is the woman whom Kade is referring to?. My bridesmaid's. The girl who never made me feel bad about myself. The girl whom I trust the most in the world and who helps me all through out everything.

"You...and Sa-sasha?" I unbelievably asked him.

I let out a gasp when Kade nodded his head. His eyes were pitying as he looked at me.

"It happened just now, Jane," Simon said, frowning. "I was about to tell you last year but I can't."

"Last year?"

Last year? He planned to tell me last year so does that mean they've been keeping their relationship for that long?

"Yes." He simply answered.

I scoffed at him. "How many years have you been seeing each other behind my back?" I look at him but my voice is already cracking.

"Two years."

I closes my eyes upon hearing him said that. Those words were enough to get the job done. They made me feel insignificant and unimportant.

"Get out," I yelled, my voice low and rage-filled.

"What? " His eyes widened with surprise as he looked at me.

"Get out! GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!" I yelled, hurling my bouquet at him with all the force I could muster.

He swerved around it and dashed toward the door, not looking back.

My body slumped forward and my face and body hit the ground as soon as he was gone and the door closed behind him.

I stayed in that kind of position for about how many minutes.

I couldn't make myself to move. I was taken aback. I'd been thrown out an hour before my wedding. I finally closed my eyes and realized I was crying. It hurts so much.

I was betrayed by the two persons whom I trust the most in the world. I've been betrayed by the man whom I thought that will never hurt me..I got also betrayed by the woman whom I thought I could rely on to

.

"Jane," I heard someone say..

A pair of large brown eyes shifted into my field of vision. Andrew, my older brother. As he looked at me, his eyes were filled with silent rage.

“ We heard everything from Kade, I'm gonna kill that mother f**ker." He said as he clenched his hands into fists.

I held his hand and held it tightly as I shook my head towards him. I wanted to respond so badly, but the sobs wouldn’t stop. My brother would definitely kill him for sure after what he did to me. He is over protected over me, so I'm sure after this he will find Kade and Sasha.

I felt a warm, feminine hand on my back and my friend Aime spoke.

"I'm so sorry, Jane." She said, almost in tears herself. "You should held up high. They're not worth it of your tears okay? We'll get you out of here, so be strong okay?" Aime said." We've already informed the visitors. Some of them already left, and your parents..."

"Where is Mom and Dad?" I asked, ny voice is so low that I don't know if Aime heard what I have said.

"They're downstairs, taking care some of the visitors." Aime answered, still comforting my back.

Tears starts build up in my eyes again and then one by one, my tears starts to flow down. I really can't imagine that this day would come to me. What I've expected is to end this day as happy one.

"Hush, now. You don't have to shed tears for those mother fu**ers." Andrew said to me as he patted my back.

"I just really don't get it, bro. Of all people, why does it have to be Sasha? I could have accepted it if it wasn't Sasha. How could she do that to me. She's my best friend." I cried as I said those wordst to my brother.

"I know. That's why you should stop crying now and show them that they are not worth it. That they have made a wrong decision and that they will regret what they did." Andrew said. I heaved out a heavyw sighed and I look out the window.

I noticed it was getting dark. I was crying for how long before Andrew and Aime arrived?

As Andrew lifted me into his arms and carried me out, I thought to myself, "I've obviously been on the floor for hours crying over that a——-e."

I focused on Andrew's swaying motion as he walked and the soft clacking of Aime's high heel shoes. I tried to focus on anything other than the gaping hole Kade had left in my heart.
