Chapter 1

When I woke up, I was excited about my birthday. I hurried to get out of bed and went to the bathroom to take a shower and get dressed. I also brushed my teeth after I took a bath.

Now I can comb my hair first before I leave my room.

I'm 15 years old now, and my parents and I are going to the Amusement park. It's my 15th birthday today and I want to be a complete family. Because they are always busy with their work, I decided to celebrate my birthday at Amusement Park.

I was just coming down the stairs and Mom and Dad met me immediately.

"Happy birthday our Princess!" Mom and Dad greeted me warmly. I smiled at their opening for me. "Thank you, Mommy and Daddy!" I said, and they hugged me more.

I was happy because I know that my family loves me. They give me what I want. They are willing to leave the job temporarily just to see that I am happy.

As I pondered, I did not realize that Mommy had invited me to leave. "Honey, are you ready? We're leaving so we can get to where we're going early so you can enjoy it." Mommy told me.

"Okay, Mom, let's go!" I responded.

We were already riding in the Ford that Dad was driving and soon we were immediately at the Amusement Park. I enjoyed strolling inside the Amusement Park.

After we took a walk we went to the restaurant to eat because we were already hungry.

I said, "Mommy I'm hungry, let's eat first."

"Ok Honey," she said. "Darling, let's go to the restaurant near here first because our Princess is hungry," Mommy spoke happily to Daddy. "Okay, Darling!" Dad replied.

And soon we arrived at a high-end restaurant. And we ordered a lot of food...

My Mom is a teacher while my Dad is a billionaire businessman.

My Dad is famous in the field of Business and no one can beat him for being number one in the ranks of the business world...

Then after we ate and we decided to go home.

While we were on the road I was suddenly nervous. I can’t figure out where this feeling came from.

I just couldn't bear the nervousness that bothered me. Mommy and Daddy were both in the front of the car we were driving and I was in the backseat.

As we approached our mansion my chest throbbed faster and faster. I was even more nervous, I looked at my parents and they were just talking. They don't seem to be fighting.

When I regained my sight outside the window I noticed a black car parked on the side of the road. I wish I could just speak but suddenly...

"Bang! Bang! Bang!" Consecutive gunshots.

"What is it?" I asked myself because Dad suddenly stopped driving. Looking outside I immediately saw armed men shooting at our car.

A series of gunshots rang out. I immediately hid at the bottom of the chair and I saw Mama quickly approach me and she hid me in her body.

I was crying out of fear. Mommy tried to get rid of my fear. "Don't cry Honey, we can get out of here too. Hide at my back, and no matter what happens, force yourself to live for us." Mom told me.

Though confused, I still nodded. There was still no stopping the shooting in our car.

And I don't know what happened next because my vision suddenly darkened...

I woke up because of the noise coming from the sound of the device machine.

When I opened my eyes, I saw a white ceiling. The place is unfamiliar to me. I try to open my mouth and my throat hurts too. I couldn’t understand how I felt, like the weight of my body.

"What happened to me? I don't remember anything. The only thing I remember is that we went for a walk after eating and then we went home and someone suddenly fired a gunshot. People shot at our car."

And as a cue, I immediately remembered Mommy and Daddy.

I woke up to my thoughts when the bedroom door opened not knowing who it was. I saw the woman enter, she was wearing a nurse's uniform.

"Wait a minute! Why is there a nurse? Where am I?" I asked myself with astonishment.

I saw that the nurse who had just arrived looked at my behavior and her eyes widened. She quickly ran out of the room and soon returned with a doctor.

The doctor approached me immediately and asked me to check my body to see if I was okay. I was forced to speak because I was already thirsty.

I said, "W-water p-please!"

That was the only word that came out of my mouth. They gave me water that was just right to wet my throat. I still wanted to drink but the doctor forbade me.

"How are your feelings right now?" The doctor asked me.

"I-I'm still thirsty." I stuttered telling him. They gave me water again. After that, I was able to drink the water again, and I was able to speak properly.

"I'm okay Doc," I said, but my voice was fading.

"Well, If that's the case, I'm happy for you that you are awake already," he said.

"How long have I been sleeping?" I asked the doctor.

"You've been comatose for one year, Agata." The doctor answered my question. I almost dropped my jaw at what I heard from my doctor.

"I-I've been w-what?" I stuttered and asked again because I couldn't believe what I found out.

I've been asleep for a long time, that's why I feel heavy. I suddenly remembered my parents, so I asked the Doctor about them.

"Doc, my Mommy and Daddy, where are they?" I asked.

Suddenly everything was quiet so I called Mom and Dad, just in case they were just outside.

"Mommy! Daddy! Where are you? Where are you? Please! Can anyone tell me where my Mom and Dad are?" I asked them.

I was hysterical to them and I was going crazy. I want to go out, I want to find them. But the nurses there stopped me immediately.

"Miss Agata, please calm down, that will make your situation worse and you'll just wake up!" the doctor spoke to me.

"No! No! No! I want to see my Parents. Please, take me to them." I begged them, but I still didn't stop struggling so they just injected me with sedatives.

And in a moment I was fainting, my eyelids suddenly became heavy and my vision went completely dark.

"Mom, Dad." That was the last thing I said before I was completely swallowed up by the darkness.

When I woke up again, I felt pretty well. I looked at the sofa and saw a man sitting there in a formal suit with an attached case on the mini table.

"Wait! Who is this person? Why is he here? Where are you, Mom and Dad? Why can't you come to the hospital with me? Are you busy again, so you can't even visit me?" When I talk to myself.

Tears welled up in my eyes and I started sobbing. The man sitting on the sofa suddenly turned his attention to me when he noticed that I was crying. He immediately approached me and then asked me anxiously.

"Miss Agata, what's wrong?" he asked. I immediately looked up at him in astonishment.

"Wait! Am I hearing right? He knows me?" My other mind turned and I was hiccuping as I asked the man.

"W-why do you know me? Do you know my parents too?" I asked him one question after another and he nodded in response...

"Yes, I know them too. I'm your family lawyer, Agata." He answered me immediately.

"Can you please tell me where my parents are?" I asked her and kept on sobbing.

"Okay, I'll tell you, but I hope you're not surprised by what you find out." The man responded. I was immediately nervous about what he could tell me.

"Are you ready to know the truth, Agata?" he asked me again.

I nodded to him even though my eyes were still blurred with tears, and he started to tell everything.

"Your Mother and Father are both dead," he said, and It was as if cold water had been poured on me because I could not keep quiet.

I was like a statue from what I found out. And the man continued to talk about my parents.

"They are both dead on arrival. They did not reach the hospital and you took your own life. By the grace of God you survived. But I did not let the public know that you are still alive. Because that is the last request of your father before he dies, " he explained.

And with all the things he said, I was completely in tears.

It hurts, it hurts me so much that I couldn't bear the pain. I'm in pain now. I can't accept that they're gone.

I was so attached to him because I was getting weaker. Suddenly he hugged me and I cried even more.

"How else can I live now that they are gone? How can I? Tell me, Attorney, what shall I do?" I asked him sadly.

"Don't worry Agata, I'm here to help you. I'll help you recover from all these complicated circumstances," he said.

Gradually, I began to feel better.

"Don't leave me, please Attorney. I don't want to be alone, I'm scared. I don't want to! I don't want to be alone." I spoke to him while crying.

"Okay, okay, stop crying now, Agata. Don't worry, I won't leave you, ever, I promise," he said.

"Really? Do you promise?" I asked him to make sure what he said.

He nodded at me and I held out my little finger and said, "pinky swear?" He immediately reached for my little finger and also said "pinky swear!..."
