“Don’t you dare lay a finger on her!”

The brown wolf growled as he leaped forward to the girl who lay helplessly on the floor.

He was in his wolf form, he used his snout to budge her a little thinking she would wake up but she didn't. He was so engrossed staring at the girl sleeping peacefully that he didn't realize the attacker was about to attack him.

By the time his senses picked that, he had been stabbed by the side with a dagger.

Anger boiled in him as he fell to the floor, he whimpered and growled loudly in pure anger.

“Rurrrr!!” he roared.

The attacker seemed to be a wolf as well but he hadn't changed to his form.

Quentin whose side was already bleeding while seething in anger leaped to the man and scratched his already ugly face until nothing but blood had covered his face.

Cries and blood filled the air as Quentin didn't give him a second chance.

At that point, the attacker loosed his breathe and died a horrible death.

When Quentin saw this, he changed to his real form. He turned around and the girl was still laying beautifully on the floor.

His side was bleeding but it seemed to be the last thing on his mind. All he wanted to do at that point was to protect the girl In front of him before other unmated wolves would want to claim her.

She was indeed an epitome of beauty, any wolf would want to lay his claws and fangs on her.

Quentin quickly took some fig leaves, he covered her with them, then he laid on her so no unmated wolf would notice her and even if they did, seeing him with her will make them flee.

Quentin had earlier applied some herbs on his injury but it didn't make the pain stop. He was a weak wolf, healing wasn't as fast.

By evening, the guards had set out. They all had lights with them and they scattered around the bushes.

“If you don't find the princess, count yourself dead!” it was the words Alpha king Landon had said to them and he meant each word he spouted.

“We have to find her!”

The head guard, Grey yelled while the men nodded their heads and set out.

Meanwhile, the day broke and they hadn’t found the princess but they couldn't go back to the Alpha king and tell him this, he would kill them and their existing families.

However,

Her hazel eyes met with the sunrise, she closed them and shifted uncomfortably as she felt something heavy and hard on her.

She attempted to open her eyes again, this time the light didn't hurt her eyes. She stared at the sky blankly with no expression until she remembered what had happened before.

Then, the heavy and hard thing which turned out to be human shifted which made her scared enough to sit up and push it away.

When she saw a man, she gasp.

She gently moved away from him, she took her eyes at every corner of the place until she saw a large wooden stick.

“You animal!!”

She yelled and picked the stick; she held it with her two hands and ran to the man. She hit it hard on his back that Quentin yelped and yelled loudly.

The pain he felt was inexplicable and excruciating accompanied by the pain that came from the side of his belly. He groaned and gently raised his head to the lady.

Once she saw him, she gasped and ran to him, she knelt beside him.

“Quentin?! I didn't know it was you.”

Her face was filled with worry and panic as the injury in his belly side had started to bleed.

“What can I do to help?” she asked with a worried face.

Minutes later, they had set a campfire and sat in front of it as the cold could make one sick. He raised his face and looked at the lady in front of him, only her skin showed she was from a wealthy home; so smooth like porcelain. Charming eyes like that of a sweet puppy, her cheekbones were raised and pretty.

Her lips completed the structure of her face; red like rose and soft like a petal.

Quentin fantasized about kissing those lips but a dog should never act like a lion.

As much as he wanted to, he knew he didn't dare to touch the hem of her dress not to say her face. That day, he would be buried alive.

“Why are you staring like that?”

She noticed him ogling at her which made her blush.

“I’m sorry,”

He said and looked away.

“Oh my, why haven't the guards found me yet?! It is so cold and uncomfortable here,” she said looking in a particular direction expecting her father’s guards to show up already.

Quentin noticed this, he watched as she bit her lower lips, he couldn't help but find it seductive.

Because she was complaining, he thought of moving closer to her and comforting her.

Joanna felt him move closer, her breathing hitched as she felt his big body behind her. She closed her eyes and breathe in. She didn’t want him closer than he had been or she wouldn’t be able to control herself anymore.

Quentin had been the pack slave and least Omega, he was hated by everyone because his father, the former beta plotted against her father, the Alpha.

After his father was executed, his status dropped and everyone hated him.

Joanna's feelings grew for him each time but she couldn’t show it, her father would kill him if she did.

She could only stay far away and love him while protecting him. Quentin gently laid his hand on hers and it made her groan, his hand was so gentle on her skin.

She tried to move away but the tingles she felt lingered, she didn’t want it to stop. She didn’t want to be far from him but she didn’t want to give him futile hope. There were in a world where their feelings for each other were forbidden.

When she couldn’t control herself anymore, she turned around; their eyes met. His grey eyes reflected in her ocean blue ones. She parted her mouth a little while scrutinizing his handsome face.

“Gosh, he risked himself for me.” She thought.

His face was bruised because of the excessive beatings he got from the pack members.

His skin was dark but it didn’t hide his handsome face and features; his body was well built and she wanted nothing but to lay on him.

“ I swear Quentin I can’t control myself but I’m scared, my dad will overreact if he finds out his daughter is in love with a betrayal’s son.” She thought again hoping her eyes would convey her words to him.

“Kiss me.” She didn’t know when the words left her mouth. Quentin was surprised by the words she said, he widened his eyes to be sure he wasn’t dreaming and it was really the Alpha’s princess in front of him.

She had always hated him and she never showed him affection once.

“Now!”

Quentin who wanted nothing but that pressed forward, he held her arm gently, and inched closer. Their proximity set her on edge, her breathe scaled higher pitching at every point. The tingles she felt were an understatement for pleasure.

She wanted him.
