I woke up to the smell of dirt and grass. For some unknown reasons, I woke up on the ground, not my soft comfortable bed. My head felt like it could split in half at any moment, my body was aching like 50 trucks had ran over me. What on earth did I do? Honestly, I had no idea. It’s weird considering I had always known what I was doing. I dislike having to deal with the consequences of a complicated situation, I’d rather not go through something that troublesome, thank you very much. Clearly, not this time. As I slowly stood up, trying to ignore the pain as much as possible, my already blurred vision was filled with black little spots. I rubbed my eyes with my right hand in an attempt to clear my vision. I looked around, desperately trying to find my glasses.

When I finally felt them, sadly enough, it was a little cracked. I sighed, putting it on. I mean, it’s better than being unable to see clearly. I looked around, examining my environment. Apparently, I was lying down in a park. I groaned. I thought about all the bugs that probably crawled all over me. Then, I panicked. I thought about the insects that are probably in my hair now. I felt grossed out. I fished my phone out from my pocket, checking the time. Monday, 8.45 a.m. Well, crap. I could only choose to go to work. I knew very well that my manager will not be happy with my appearance but she would probably hate me going to work late more. With all my energy I sprinted like crazy out of the park, hoping that I would catch a cab and get to work just in time.  Perhaps it was the cussing and blind sprinting, I failed to notice that there was a vehicle as I crossed the street. No doubt, there was a series of honking.

When I finally noticed it, I was frozen in fear. As I stood there like a statue, the car came to a screeching halt. Very quickly, I realised that it was a black Ferrari. Cold sweat broke out. If the owner asks me to pay for anything -- because for some reasons I assumed that all rich drivers does that. Actually, I kinda assumed all drivers do that -- I would be so dead. The car door slowly opened. I gulped. I knew the confrontation would not be evitable. The most intimidating looking man I had ever seen stepped out of the car. His aura alone was enough to make me want to escape the scene and act as if nothing had happened. I started to tremble as my limbs grew colder with every passing second. When we made eye contact, I gave him an awkward smile and apologized repeatedly. He scanned me up and down, I can confirm with you it was probably because I had twigs in my hair and mud on my face, and not because he found me attractive, which I wish he did at that time.

“You okay there, buddy?” he asked, visibly concerned. His voice was weirdly soothing and somehow sounded more approachable than how he looked. I quickly nodded, not wanting to make eye contact or embarrass myself any further. I could feel more of his staring. I silently prayed in my heart that he would just leave already. Then, as if he heard me, he walked towards his car. I inwardly let out a sigh of relief. I thought in joy, ‘Could it be that he's finally leaving?’ I would have cried tears of joy right then and there if it wasn’t for him being right there.

“Hey, you look like you need a ride. Where are you even going? You were running like there’s a tiger behind you or something,” he chuckled. Oh, god, his laugh was so cute, I nearly melted.

“Uh, I, uh, I- I kinda need to go Kaiser's, it’s just a few blocks from here. It’s where I work…,” I buffered for a while, “I think you’d know this company, since it’s one of the biggest companies in the world.” I don’t know why, but I felt stupid saying that. He looked like he would know about it since it’s pretty famous.

He pointed to his car, gesturing me to get on, “Well, get on. I don’t mind the mess, just so you know. I have to go there anyway.”

I blinked at him in confusion. Was I......hallucinating? Had I finally gone crazy from all that pressure from life? Was I dreaming? I had no answers to those questions. He could be a kidnapper, but, hey, life is pretty much always a gamble.  So, just like that, I got onto the Ferrari, with a strange, looking like a slop, late to work. The day was certainly not mine.
