It is a bright cool spring day and I am standing outside the middle door of the church. It was a massive oak door. This is a famous church and bookings for weddings should be made at least 1 year in advance, if not longer. I know because my roommate/ apartment-mate has booked this church for her wedding which is scheduled at the end of next year. They made a booking a few months back.

I am holding a bouquet of champagne colored tulips tied with a royal blue ribbon. The flower arrangement is exquisite. Simple yet classy.

Somebody is holding the train of my gown while another one is on the phone asking if it’s okay to go in.

The doors are just partly closed and I am looking forward for it to be opened. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I can almost hear my heart thundering inside my chest. Dug-dugudug-dugudug... goes my heart.

The door slowly swings open to reveal a temporary stand holding a curtain. It’s like there’s an added mystery that the bride is kept hidden until she goes through those white lacey curtains. There were 2 ladies on either side and slowly, each one pulled a curtain to the side.

The site before me is magnificent. I can see a well-decorated aisle. Each pew end has a bunch of gysophila flowers tied together by a royal blue ribbon. I love the color blue and the white gysophilas even highlight the blueness of the ribbon. This is so pretty, it’s like a dream.

I can feel the happiness of the people around me even though I can’t see any of their faces. Everyone’s gushing and it’s a happy gush. I look to the sides and see smiles, but I can’t seem to register any of their faces. I can’t help but smile as well.

I can hear the processional march being played live. Wow, this is so grand! A live piano music, a floral scent around the church.. what a a lovely day!

I march slowly in tune of the processional march, making sure that I don’t step on my white frilly gown. There is a little girl some distance before me who is bouncing slowly while scattering flower petals on the red carpet which I was stepping on. Oh, this is wonderful. I can’t wait to reach the altar where...

  Riiing riiiing riiiing.... riiing...

That’s the alarm clock. An old alarm clock which Andrea has been using since university days. Andrea turned off the alarm clock and muttered to herself, “Oh, it was all just a dream. Bummer! A good dream, but yes, just a dream nonetheless. I didn’t even get to see my groom! Time to wake up, Andrea!”
