Darkness. Void. Cold. Eerie Silence.

　　That is how Winter Thompson describes the place where she is right now.

　　Winter continues to walk and kept on turning her head right to left but all she could see is darkness. She was now freezing to death, fingertips turning blue, and shivering body. 

　　Winter doesn't know where she is, how, and why she's there. She could still remember that she was studying on her study desk. Maybe, she ended up sleeping while studying, no one knows.

　　Minutes passed by, she can now see a faint light far away from where she is standing right now. She ran towards it as fast as she could until the darkness was nowhere to be found. The light came from a glass coffin, snow was falling from only above it. 

　　Winter walks slowly towards the coffin and inside it was a dead girl who exactly looks like her while holding a rose which is covered on ice. 

　　Winter covered her mouth in shock and steps backward after she could see herself inside the glass coffin. Fear and dread creep inside her body, her heart beats twice as normal, her knees wobbling and stumble which made her fall on the cold ground. It was too late for her to stand and move away when the ground cracks and now she's sinking in the icy water. She tried to swim upwards to the surface but it only makes her exhausted. Something was pulling her deeper, she tried to resist it but later she gave up since nothing happens.

　　The eerie silence earlier was interrupted when a small voice whispers in her ears.

　　‘ Wake me up ’ the voice repeatedly whispers to her.

　　The voice grew louder as it whispers.

　　“ WAKE UP! ” 

　　A sudden scream startled Winter that made her immediately get up from her bed. Big beads of sweat trickle down in her face as she wipes every one of them.

　　“ A nightmare again Winter? ” a girl asks her

　　The girl's name is Jackie Monroe, Winter's cousin and also her roommate. Jackie's eye color is amber and so is her hair.

　　Winter blinks and answered her, “ Yes ” in a raspy voice

　　Jackie looks at her with a knowing gaze, “ I'm sure it's still the same as what you always dream of. ”

　　“It is,” Winter answer with a tone of a-matter-of-fact, “ But it's now different, Jackie.”

　　Jackie raised one of her eyebrows at Winter's last sentence.

　　Winter looks at her eye to eye, “ I saw a light, it came from a coffin and inside it was me, dead. I was holding a rose which is covered in ice. And all this time, the ground in there was ice, I was walking in the ice for the whole time. Freaking ice! Then, I was drowning in the icy waters.” she's horrified while just thinking about it.

　　Jackie's eyes gleam in interest, “ Maybe, your dreams involve your unknown element. Come to think of it, you still don't know yours.”

　　“ Says by the one who also doesn't know what's hers.” Winter retorted

　　Jackie rolls her eyes, “ Well, we all know what we'll inherit. It's on the blood duh!”

　　“ Then how can you say my dreams involve my element? When in fact we're relative?” Winter asks Jackie with a frown visible on her face.

　　“ A-ah” Jackie look away and was dumbfounded by Winter's sudden questions. 

　　“ Hey, I was just kidding. Seriously, you're too serious.” Winter tells her with a humorous tone despite that she was curious how Jackie acts after she asked that questions.

　　After Winter said those words, a big burden was lifted on Jackie's heart as its beating pace are going back to normal. 

　　Jackie awkwardly chuckled, “ You got a bad joke there Winter. By the way, isn't it the day for us to visit the element teller?” She changed the topic

　　Winter's eyes grew wide as she remembers what day today is, “ Yes, but do we need to do it? Our elements are inheritable, what our ancestors have is also what will have. Except, for our Monroe blood and powers is dominant.”

　　“ We still need to be sure, duh! There's still a chance that we'll not inherit the Monroe element.” Jackie said.

　　“ Well, you're quite right there.” Winter agreed to Jackie's words.

　　“ So, what you're waiting for? Get your ass out of your bed and get ready!” Jackie told her.

　　“ Isn't it a bit early? We got an appointment with her at 10 am.” Winter said and she furrowed her eyebrows.

　　Jackie grimaced at her question, “ Early? For element's sake! It's almost 10 am right now.”

　　“ What?! Why didn't you wake me up? You!!” Winter said and immediately entered their dorm's bathroom.

　　“ OF COURSE I DID, BUMMER! YOU ARE IN A DEEP SLEEP DUH!” Jackie shouted for Winter to hear it inside the bathroom.

　　After saying those words, Jackie leaves their room for Winter to prepare. She tapped once her earring on her right ear and said, “ Mother Klarrise, ” the earring made a clicked sound and a voice is heard from the device.

　　“ Reaching Mother Klarrise…Reaching Mother Klarrise……Reaching Failed,” the device's voice said.

　　Jackie tapped her earring again, two times at this time, to end the reaching session.

　　Jackie sighed, “ Maybe I'll just reach her later after Winter finishes preparing.”

　　Jackie worries about what will happen to them after they'll discover their element. Jackie was sure of what will be hers but she worries about what will Winter have and what will be her reaction. The secret they've been keeping for ages will be revealed at any minute.
