Lydia stood in front of Solstice Enterprises. She lifted her eyes to the top of the thirty-six floor building. This was the first time she would be entering this place.

She was a high school drop out so there was no way she would get invited to such a place. She took a deep breath. She had already made up her mind that no matter what she would go through with why she came there.

No one in Crystal Falls did not know who Nathaniel Blackwood was. He was a self-proclaimed businessman who suddenly rose through the ranks and became a man of power.

He changed the business game in Crystal Falls City. The City used to be known for its intense poverty but the works of Nathaniel Blackwood and Lucas Stonebrook his able assistant who was also well known for reasons most could not now pinpoint.

She had seen an advertisement online that the famous Nathaniel Blackwood was seeking a surrogate and was willing to pay the amount the woman would want. Under the post, there were several arguments as to if the post was real or not but she was in such need of money that she could not rest until she tried and that was why she was there.

What made the post questionable was that they did not use the official pages of the company to post it but some anonymous page. Lydia was least concerned if it was true or not. She would try to get money. She needed it.

"You got this Lydia," She said aloud to herself.

At this point, the security guards were already looking at her suspiciously. She has been standing there for quite a long time and made no move. She rubbed her hand over her jeans and walked towards the door.

She entered the revolving door to a very busy ground floor. Everyone was chatting about one thing or the other. While others littered the place probably waiting for an appointment.

She pushed herself to the front desk. A woman who had a huge smile plastered on her face greeted her.

"Good day madam, welcome to Solstice Enterprises, how many I assist you?" she said smiling.

Now Lydia did not know the way she could go about it. Should she tell the woman she saw an ad and she was here because of the advert?

"Ermm," she said clearing her throat.

The woman had a knowing expression on her face encouraging her to keep speaking.

"I saw this," she said pulling her damaged phone from her back pocket. It was currently hanging on by a thread. She opened up the screenshot of the advert image hoping it was real and still open.

The lady with her smile read through it and looked up to her.

"Are you here because of this?" she asked her.

Lydia felt her face flush in embarrassment. The lady must be thinking she must be dumb or foolish to still fall for a scam. Money makes others do things they never thought they could.

"Come with me then" the lady declared.

Lydia got the shock of her life. Was it possible that the advert was true and that she might have it jackpot? Or was it that she was about to be escorted out because she was crazy for showing the ad?

Unsure of whatever she was to face she followed the nice lady as she led her to the elevator. On the top of it read Private.

"Get on this and stop at the top floor. I would put a call through and you would be attended to there" the woman said as the elevator door opened.

Lydia stepped inside. She stood inside and watched the door close. She thought of all the possibilities of everything that could happen to her. She could be killed and buried without a trace. She could be abducted and never seen again. She could be turned into a slave.

She would not complain if she can either end the suffering in her life or find a solution to it.

The elevator dinged open and she was met by another smiling woman. Lydia smiled back uncomfortably.

"Come this way Mr. Blackwood is waiting," the woman said as she led her away.

"Waiting?" Lydia found herself asking unconsciously.

She did come to see him about his offer but something about actually seeing him did not sit well with her. She knew that if she did not like the sound of the proposal she could turn it down. It was written there in the proposal.

The lady stopped in front of the door and turned to her.

"Here," she said pointing to the door.

"Thank you," Lydia said and the woman walked away.

She takes a deep breath multiple times and wipes her hand over her jeans like she had done outside the building.

What if he does not like her? What was she to do? How would she make him see that she would be the perfect person for the job?

"Miss?" the lady said as she stood behind watching her. "He is still waiting" she added the smile never leaving her face.

"Okay," Lydia said before pushing the door handle.
