Davis Mansion – Afternoon

Calix looked sadly out the window while talking to their family Doctor. He reads the medical test results of his wife Portia. The doctor shook his head because he saw that her condition was serious.

“Mr. Davis, According to the result of Ma’am Portia’s tests, she is no longer in good condition.”

"Tell me Joel the truth." Calix said.

"Less than a year is the longest time she will live." Joel said.

Tears welled up in Calix's eyes. Their money cannot help to prolong his wife's life. She has brain cancer and is in stage 5. He took a deep breath and went out of the office to look at his wife.

Portia sat on the bed and hugged a doll. She also has tears in her eyes. Calix was even sadder. They didn't even love each other back then because they just arranged marriage. Their family was both rich and business partners but after a year they got along well because she was sweet and kind.

"Dear, are you okay?" he asked his wife. She smiled at him then nodded.

"Calix, I want to do everything before I die."

"A-All right, just say whatever you want I will do it for you. Where do you want to go? What do you want to eat or buy?”

"I want a child."

Calix, on the other hand, was worried because of her wife's condition. They spent almost three years together but only one year after they got married she was diagnosed with brain cancer. They took her to various countries for treatment but it seems that she is destined to disappear early.

"P-Portia."

"I know Calix that I will not be long but I would like to give you a child so that I can leave something to you and our parents. I also know that I can't afford to bear it so I hope we can find a surrogate who can take our child. I hope this can be done soon. ” Portia said seriously but there were tears in her eyes.

Calix hugged her and nodded. "All right, I'll do everything for you."

"Thank you my love."

Roxas home – Afternoon

Saoirse listened quietly to the conversation between her father-in-law, mother-in-law and her Husband. They don't like her for their son, Bryan. She is 18 years old while Bryan is 21 when they got married because her parents are very conservative.

They caught them kissing so her dad got angry and immediately rushed to Bryan's parents to hold him accountable for what he had done to her. Bryan's parents did nothing, so a simple wedding was held for them.

“How is that? It's a big problem now, it doesn't seem to be going well in our business. ” Mr. Lester Roxas said. Father of Bryan. They own a candle and match factory.

“Are we going to go bankrupt? Is the company at a loss? ” Mrs. Brenna Roxas asked. Mother of Bryan.

“Sales are too low and many of our workers no longer come in because they have not been paid for more than two months. They want to sue us. ” Bryan said.

“What are we going to do? You, Bryan, if you hadn't agreed to marry your wife, I would have introduced you to the mayor's daughter. We will be more blessed in that family than your useless wife. ” Brenna said.

"Mom, lower your voice so she can hear you."

“Son, your mother is right. They are just poor, we spent more on your wedding than they did.”

"Divorce her while it's still early." Brenna said angrily.

Sadly, Saoirse left the house, not knowing how to help her husband's problem. She went to a coffee shop and sat down. She accidentally overheard a woman talking on her cellphone.

"Yes, Sir, I will find a secret surrogate mother for you and Ma'am. How much will it cost just in case? 50 million pesos? Okay sir.”

Saoirse couldn't help but look at the woman. She finished talking and also looked at her then smiled. Courageously Saoirse stepped aside from the woman and asked shyly.

"M-Ma'am, I'm sorry if I heard your conversation but is it true that you will give 50 million pesos to a secret surrogate mother?" she asked.

"Yes, are you willing?" the woman asked seriously. Saoirse didn't say a word but nodded with teary eyes.

Two weeks later.

Capital City International Hospital

“Open your legs as wide as you can.”

Saoirse is lying on the operating table. The doctor takes a long tube and enters her body. She then pushes the injection inside her containing sperm and egg cells of the client. Saoirse has varied sentiments in her mind.

She is only 19 years old. It is really out of her belief that she would do surrogacy for other couples.

Her husband's family is almost bankrupt. But As long as she surrogates for others, they will get a huge amount of money to use to start again. Saoirse has to swallow her pride to help them.

She is willing to do anything for Bryan and to their family. 50 million pesos is what they need.

The operation is quite a success, and Saoirse is pressed out of the operating room by the nurse.

She dashes her stomach. Does her uterus start to conceive the child of a strange couple incredibly?

“Mr. Davis, according to Dr. Joel Montes the operation is successful. We just need to wait for the woman to give birth soon.” Attorney Sanchez said.

Calix smiled then nodded but his eyes were full of worries because Portia is not well since yesterday. “Give the woman everything she needs so that she does not have difficulty in conceiving. Make sure the baby is healthy.”

“Yes, sir.”

Saoirse was lying sadly in the hospital bed. Her husband did not even visit because he did not agree with what she did but accepted the money to pay the debts of their business. Even Bryan's parents did not show up or even thank her for what she did.

However, her own parents supported her and still take care of her even if they get nothing from the money she earned.

“Are you okay?” Saoirse's mother asks.

“Yes mama.”
