I simply sat at the table near the Dreame Café’s counter while sipping the coffee that I ordered.

I was waiting for Phillip. We agreed to meet today. It had been a week since we met. That was why I was so happy when he suddenly wanted to meet up.

I glanced at the counter when the door suddenly opened and closed loudly. A woman came out, and her face was unable to paint because of annoyance. She was petite, had bob-cut hair, and was also strict to look at. Her face was familiar.

I frowned as I tried to remember where I saw the woman until she left the café. My eyes widened as I realized who it was. It was Olive Ramirez. A well-known psychiatrist in the metro. What was she doing inside the office of the cafe?

I shook my head and just shrugged it off.

Exactly when she came out, I saw Philip entering the door of the Café. I immediately smiled as he walked closer to me.

“Hey, Love. Sorry for making you wait. Something came up in the firm.” Phillip kissed me on the cheek as he got beside me.

He was only five minutes late. It was okay. I know he was a bit busy now compared to before. His Law Firm was still new. And I understand that it needed a lot of his time.

“It’s okay, Love. You’re just five minutes late, ”I replied with a smile.

He sat down in front of me and held my hand. “It’s not okay, Love. I know I’ve been busy for the past few days and we didn’t see each other for a week. I hope you understand that I’m just doing this for our future. ”

"What are you saying? It's really okay.” I chuckled. "You know your girlfriend is very understanding." I grinned at him. He laughed at what I said.

“Damn! How can I live without you, hmm? ” He brought my hand to his lips and kissed it. Even though he probably did this to me a few times, I still couldn't help but shudder.

Philip was very handsome. I love the thickness of his eyebrows and the long and curved lashes of his eyes. Accompanied by his sharp nose and red lips that I would never be tired of looking at. And his body? Well… He got muscles in the right places. He was perfectly lean.

He stopped kissing my hand when suddenly my phone rang on the table.

I glanced at it and saw that Nicholai was calling. What else does this man need? Tsk!

"Nicholai, again?" Phil frowned. I withdrew my hand from his grip and picked up the device.

I saw him licking his lower lip while staring at me. He looked pissed, though.

“Maybe important, Love. Let me answer first. ” I smiled at him sheepishly while holding the phone.

"Answer it here," he said, a little annoyed.

I didn’t know why he was always annoyed with Nicholai. The man did nothing to him. Nicholai was my childhood friend. We were kind of close. His family and my family were close. And Nicholai was always at our house. I didn’t know about that man. He made our home his hangout place.

I pressed the accept button and put the device in my ear.

[Where the hell are you? Did you forget what day is today?] I immediately heard his annoyed voice on the other line.

"Why are you annoyed again?" I answered with a laugh. "I'm in Dreame Café with Phil." I looked at Phil as I said that. “Why are you looking for me? What is it today? ”

[Seriously, woman? Did you just forget my fucking birthday?] My eyes widened at what I heard.

Shit! I forgot that it was his birthday tomorrow! We were planning to go to their resort today. The whole family, to be exact! We were going to stay there for two nights to celebrate his birthday.

With just Nicholai's voice, I could already imagine his fuming mad face right now. Goodness! His aura had always been really angry, even before.

“Shit! Sorry, Nic! I didn’t mean to forget about it, ”I said.

My eyes widened when I saw Phili getting up. He looked really pissed.

“Where are you going?” I asked him using my lips.

“Counter. I’ll buy coffee for me,” he replied as he walked to the counter.

[Be here in 5 minutes or I will go there and drag you here.] he said threateningly.

I rubbed my temple. He was really bossy. Ugh! So annoying!

“I can’t. You know I haven’t seen Philip for the whole damn week. I will follow you to your resort. Promise. ” I heard him cursing in the other line. This man had really a very foul mouth. Tsk!

[Convinced me more, Cris.] He said in a pissed tone.

“Okay. What do you want? I’ll do everything that you want. Just give me an hour or two to spend it with Phil today. ” I rolled my eyes when I heard him snicker.

[Everything? I’ll keep that in mind.] He said before dropping the call. Damn! He didn’t even say goodbye. Such a brute!

“What does he want?” Philip asked, annoyed when he returned to our table carrying a mug of smoky coffee.

"I forgot that the whole family was going to their resort today," I said. “They’re all waiting for me. I’m sorry, Love. ”

He let out a frustrated sigh and looked at me. “It’s fine. I need to go back to the firm too. My secretary just called me. There’s an emergency,” he said and then took a sip on his coffee. "See you after two days then?" he added, which made me even more depressed.

I just smiled sheepishly and nodded at him. “Okay. See you in two days. ” He kissed me on the lips before he left me on the table with a heavy heart.

I took my phone and dialed Nicholai’s number.

[What now, woman?] He said, pissed. I chuckled. Goodness!

"Can you fetch me here at Dreame Café?" I said while biting my lip.

[Fine. Just wait there. I’ll be there before you know it.] He said and dropped the call.
