IN AN OPEN FIELD

Looking around one not need to be told that a party was going mere looking at the decorations. But it wasn’t just any type of party; a wedding reception to be precise.

Series of big canopies was set up with a tasteful decoration of paper buntings. The round tables with different type of dishes served on it. Standing by the gate, was the couple of the occasion ushering their guests in who walked over to the round tables to settle down.

People were chanting with a broad smile plastered on their faces to indicate it was a happy occasion.

“ Oh my heavens, is this you Katherine? You are looking gorgeous” One of the guest exclaimed on seeing the bride, Katherine whose cheeks flushed.

“ And Bryan, you look just perfect in these suit” The guest complimented again but this time referring to the groom.

“ Thank you so much Mrs Annabelle. Come on in” Bryan ushered with a broad smile.

“ Erm.. excuse me, can I take some photos with you two?” Another of the guest asked making the couple chuckle.

“ Sure” Katherine replied. They were still busy taking some pictures when;

“ Buddy!!’ A voice called out, making the couple turn to the direction where the voice came from.

Standing not so far from them was a guy, putting on a short sleeve shirt with a plain black pants. On his neck was two silver necklaces with one dangling out on his chest.

Looking up to his face, one could see his thin and narrow eyebrows. And his dark brown almond shaped eyes coupled with his imperious nose and thin lips matches his well angulated cheekbones. His hair was kinda messy and he was kinda of tan in completion.

Who is he?

“ SHANE!” Bryan exclaimed in excitement, walking over to him with a broad smile. They both embraced each other in a tight hug.

Shane Miller, one of the richest and know CEO in California. As early as 24, he already owe more than 5 different companies. But unlike the billionaires know in stories who are mean, cold-hearted and strict, Shane is the totally opposite of it. He is know for being kind, jovial and humble.

And let's not forget the fact that he's know as the stingiest CEO in California. One could hardly believe, he's a CEO with the way he dresses. Ok, enough of the introduction.

“ Bro. I thought you wouldn’t make it” Bryan chuckled happily breaking from the hug.

“ I wouldn’t dare miss my best friend’s wedding for anything” The guy, Shane replied.

“ Sorry I wasn’t able to make it to the church. You know how my work is” He apologized.

“ Com’on don’t apologize bro. The fact that you’re here now is enough from me” Bryan smiled sincerely at him. Just then Katherine walked over to them.

“ Hi Shane” She waved, turning the two’s attention to her.

“ Oh Katherine” Shane exclaimed.

“ Permit me to say this Bryan but your wife is looking hot and gorgeous today” He added, making Katherine blush.

“ You can say that again” Bryan bragged, wrapping his hand around Katherine’s waist before pulling her to himself.

“ Oh geez did I forget…Congratulations to you both especially to Katherine” Shane congratulated.

“ Why especially to me?” Katherine couldn’t help but ask.

“ Well because it amazes me how you were able to trap this playboy over here within the snap of fingers” Shane teased.

“ Don’t worry dude, when you fell in love, only then you will understand” Bryan replied.

“ Really?” Shane scoffed.

“ My, I can’t wait to fall in love. I can’t wait for my Miss Right to walk over to me right this minute” He sassed with an eye roll.

“ Katherine!” A feminine voice called out, prompting them all to turn. Not so far from them was a light skinned, no actually, pale skinned lady putting on a red knee length gown which hugged perfect on her body, revealing her amazing slender curves.

Her shoulder length black hair was tied in a ponytail, revealing her innocent round face. Her protruding almond colored eyes was enough to captivated any soul that stares at them. Not to talk of her red full lips looking as tempting as ever.

Shane’s pupil dilated immediately on seeing the lady and he felt his heart skip a beat. His eyes remained glued to her as she walked elegantly towards them and truth be told, with every step she took, Shane could feel his heart flutter and skip at the same time.

“ Good gracious.. she’s beautiful” He couldn’t help but mumble.

“ I know I sarcastically said my Miss Right should walk over to me but I swear I didn’t mean for it to happen”

“ I can’t even seem to take my eyes off her” To make matters worse, a broad smile formed on her lips exposing her hidden dimples. Shane could feel his jaw drop open.

“ Charlisa” Katherine called out happily, widening her arms to welcome her in an embrace.

“ Charlisa. Her name is as beautiful as she is” Shane couldn’t help but smile to himself.

“ I’m so happy to see you!” Katherine squeaked happily breaking from the hug.

“ You are looking breathtaking” She complimented.

“ Thanks Kathrine. You are looking even more breathtaking” Charlisa replied.

“ Looks like someone has forgotten about me” Bryan spoke up, turning Charlisa’s attention to him.

“ Com’on Bryan, don’t say that. How can I forget my cute playboy” Charlisa pouted, hugging him

“ I was thinking”

“ Anyways Charlisa, meet my buddy, Shane” Bryan introduced and Charlisa turned to Shane who was already smiling.

“ Hi, I’m Shane Miller” Shane stretched out his hand for a handshake.

“ I’m Charlisa Brown” Charlisa greeted back, claiming his hand as their gaze locked.

“ Nice to meet you” Both if them said at the same time.

“ Well if you two are done with your formality stuff, can I borrow my best friend for a while?” Katherine spoke up, snapping the two out. Seeing as their hands were still intertwined, the two let go of each other’s hands.

Katherine dragged Charlisa out, walking a desirable distance from the dude’s.

“ So tell me Charlie , where your boyfriend Adrian?” Katherine asked.

“ Oh Adrian is fine. He couldn’t make because he was busy with work” Charlisa replied.

Meanwhile Shane was still staring at Charlisa as she and Katherine was having their conversation.

“ Crushing on her already?” Bryan’s voice startled Shane.

“ Who?” He asked almost immediately.

“ Charlisa. You can’t seem to get your eyes off her, right?” Bryan teased.

“ No. I’m not even looking at her” Shane denied immediately.

“ You’re lying bro…you’re lying”

“ Com’on Bryan stop it”

“ Well you better get your eyes off her” Bryan’s next remarked caught Shane off track.

“ Why?” He couldn’t help but ask

“ Cause she’s already taken” Bryan replied before leaving.

“ Oh” Shane mouthed sadly as his smile came crushing down the train.

AT A CLUB

After the wedding reception was over, everyone headed to the club to have a good time, including the bride and the groom.

Shane and his group of friends, including Bryan has already taken down 4 bottles of vodka as the music were buzzing. Everyone was already dancing and drinking their life out.

“ Shane! Shane! Shane! Shane!....” His friends chanted as Shane gulped down the 5th bottle of vodka, before letting out a victory scream.

“ Whoa oo yeah!” He exclaimed grabbing another bottle.

Charlisa on the other hand was trying hard to avoid drinking but with her friends persuading her plus she didn’t want to look odd. Besides, the reason she came here was to have a good time.

She grabbed a shot of vodka gulping it down at once. She shut her eyes at the bittersweet taste she felt and the hotness she felt as the vodka went down her neck.

With only one shot, her head started spinning and she suddenly felt the urge to gulped down another shot and that was what she did. With that, she lost control of her behavior as she let out a loud scream.

To make matters, her already drunk friends grabbed her wrist pulling her up for a dance.

“ This is so amazing!!” She exclaimed, swinging her head and waist to the beat of the music buzzing.

“ Charlisa! Charlisa! Charlisa..” Her friends chanting, giving her more morale to dance.

With her head already spinning, she quickly spotted a chair and slumped to it. She grabbed another shot of vodka she saw on the table, gulping it down.

Shane on the other hand who was now more than drunk, spotted Charlisa and quickly walked up to her before slumping beside her on the chair.

“ Hey” He waved, smiling stupidity.

“ You want some?” Charlisa smiled back waving a shot of vodka before him.

“ No. I don’t want to get drunk” Shane chuckled.

“ You” Charlisa pointed at him before bursting to laughter.

“ Why…are…you…laughing?” Shane too joined her.

“ You’re already drunk” Charlisa mumbled amidst laughter.

“ No I’m not. I promise” Shane grimaced, pouting, making Charlisa laugh even the more.

“ You look really cute” She face palmed him, pouting too

“ And you’re extremely beautiful” Shane replied, staring intently into her eyes.

“ I think I like you” He confessed.

“ And I like you too” Charlisa replied, staring back at him. Shane eyes drafted to her lips and the urge to taste became strong.

Giving in to his desire, he started bringing his face closer and before you knew, he slowly claimed her lips and then
