Chapter 1

“I now pronounce you as husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride.” the father announced.

My tears fell because of joy. I’m so happy for my best friend.

She’ve been my bestfriend for almost two years. I wiped my tears on my cheek using the tissue I’m holding. I can’t really stop shedding tears. When I finally finished wiping my tears, a man suddenly appeared in front of me. I gulped. My eyes widened when our eyes met. He has a gray expressive eyes. It was his thick and dark eyebrows who caught my attention at first, but when our eyes met, my eyes couldn’t stop looking at it.

“Miss, here, if you want more tissue.” the man infront of me said gladly.

My mind can’t even process what he said. He has a thick and long eye lashes. I licked my lips when my eyes lifted on his pinkish lips that I would literally think that he used a lipstick. My eyes drifted on his well-built jaw. I bit my lower lip when I saw how his perfect jaw moved.

“H-Huh?” I asked nonchalantly.

“Tissue?” he lend the tissue to me. I looked at it and shook my head.

“No, thanks.” I refused.

“Handkerchief?” he said as he reached me for the handkerchief.

I shook my head as an answer this time.

“Water? Do you want some water?” he smiled cutely.

My mouth dropped open. I tried not to look at him because I’m getting annoyed with him. I turned around to looked for my bestfriend, Venus. I saw her and she’s giving me a sign to come over her. People were still taking pictures with the couple. I would have been there if I hadn’t been blocked by this man. And what is he offering me again? Water? What I am going to do with it? Probably to pour it to him because I don’t need it. But you’re so cruel, Camila, if you’d do it.

I sighed heavily and empty smiled at him. I am easily get annoyed and this man has no exemption even I find him. . . handsome and an eye catcher.

I rolled my eyes. “Holy water, you want?”

He chuckled with no trace of humor.

“Is that a joke?” he mocked like it’s too corny if it is.

My blood just boiled because of it.

“What do you think?” I smirked annoyingly.

“Then, what do you want? Me?” he playfully chuckled.

I blinked and looked at him with disbelief. Now, is that a fucking joke? Is he serious? I chuckled annoyingly and still couldn’t believe him. Handsome but very annoying, huh?

“Yeah? I want you...” I tried to smile sweetly at him even though I was already irritated.

I stepped closely to him so he could hear me more even my knees are kinda trembling. My heart is beating so loudly, too. He gulped. His manly scent sent shivers down to my spine. I can see the shock in his eyes and how his adams apple moved. I closed my eyes. I can’t take his scent anymore. It’s just so good to him. Before I could drive away by his scent, I did my plan.

“. . .gone.” I winked and smoothly went back to my place.

“Excuse me, mister.” I said and started to walked away.

I quickly approached Venus who had been signaling to me earlier. I calmed myself silently. Her mouth were open like she saw something shouldn’t be see.

“Who’s that guy? You didn’t tell us that you have a boyfriend, huh?”

Venus smirked as she looked where I came from.

“He’s not my boyfriend,” I said and rolled my eyes.

“Not your boyfriend but you kissed.” I heard her whisper.

My eyes widened.

“Oh, no, Ven! We didn’t kissed! I just whispered something to him.” I almost shouted.

She smirked evilly and glared at me faintly.

“Whatever, Camila.” she mouthed.

“We did not kissed.” I repeated.

She chuckled before nodding but I know she’s still not convince. I didn’t kissed that annoying guy. Heck, I will never do that even. . . even he’s the most handsome man in the world! We approached Julia to take some pictures.

“Smile please!” the photographer shouted.

I forced to smile even I want to roll my eyes. How can I smile when the guy who approached and annoyed me earlier was looking at me while smiling like an idiot?

When it was over, we went outside with the bride. The tradition will be held where the bride will throw her bouquet. I have no plan to catch it. I don’t want to get married yet. Though it’s just a tradition and no one really knows who’s going to be married next.

“I’ll throw it now, okay?” Julia said and smiled gladly.

I'm on the edge. If it goes to me then I won’t catch it! Julia threw the flower loudly. I followed it with my gaze and smirked when it landed on Venus. I caught her panicked and didn’t know what to do. Venus doesn’t want to get married yet like me. She has the bouquet.

“Fuck.” Venus mouthed and glanced at me. She was holding the flower and I almost scolded her when she suddenly threw it at me! I stirred with people so that I wouldn’t get caught it. The bouquet was catched by someone. Her eyes were blinking because of shock.

“Fuck you.” I said as I approached Venus again. Julia was looking at us sharply because of what Ven did or more like, what we did.

“Fuck you two.” she whispered emphatically.

Venus and I laughed together while Julia was giving us a deadly gaze. After that, everyone started to go to the reception. Venus and I were left for reason I don’t know.

“You’re going to the reception with?” Venus asked like she’s concern.

“With none,” I shrugged my shoulder.

“I’ll just ride a taxi.” I added.

She smiled ridiculously at me like she didn’t like what I said.

“No way I will let that happen.” she shook her head.

I also can’t be with her since she’s with her boyfriend. I won’t accept it if she will offer me if ever. I don’t want to be a third wheel!

“How about. . . you go with Warren's friend?” she suggest.

I don’t know who’s Warren’s friend so why would I? I was about to answer her ‘no’ but her boyfriend suddenly appeared.

His hand were automatically wrapped around my friend. I cleared my throat.

“What’s the problem?” her boyfriend asked.

His looks made me remember some foreign artist. His skin were white and he’s a good looking, too. Ven lean against him. I rolled my eyes and slightly sighed.

“Do you have a friend who’s going at the reception alone? Can she come with him?” she pouted.

My mouth dropped open to say something but no one came out. What is she doing. . .?

There’s no problem with me riding a taxi. I can’t understand why she’s looking for someone to be with me. I can go there alone. I’m not crippled. I was about to voice out what’s on my mind but her boyfriend outran me. I just shut my mouth because they seem has their own world.

“Of course, baby, I have a friend who’s going there alone. He’s single, too.” I heard Warren’s answer.

“Perfect, then!” Ven almost clapped just to show that she is happy.

“Wait me here, I’m just going to call him.” he added and kissed Venus’ cheeks.

And of course, my beautiful and seductive bestfriend smiled sweetly at him. I made face.

“Thank you! You’re the best!” Ven said and then looked at me. Her smile was gone now.

“What’s with the face, bitter?” she arched her left brow. I glared at her.

“Excuse me, I’m not bitter. I told you, I can ride a taxi. It’s not as if you’re the one who’s gonna pay for it.”

She shrugged.

“Well, to atleast save your money?”

I sighed, defeated because I need to save money. We both waited for her boyfriend. When we saw them nearing, I almost curse when I saw who’s with him! I just stopped myself when I remembered that I’m inside the church. The man who’s with Warren was the man who approached me earlier. The man who has a gray eyes, who annoyed me earlier and whom I. . . nevermind!

“Ven, I’ll just take a taxi. I don’t care if I’ll waste money.” I told Ven.

I just don’t want to be with that guy. For sure, he will just annoy me like what he did earlier.

“Huh? Why?” she asked but didn’t wait for my answer because she went to her boyfriend right away. My lips parted.

I sighed heavily. Ugh! She asked me a question but didn’t wait for my answer. Great!

She’s smiling as they walk near me. The man is smiling too. I showed my irritated face to him so that he would know that I’m not glad to come with him. I know he saw it but he chose to ignore it!

“This is Grayson.” Warren introduced his friend.

Gray. So, his name is Gray because his eyes were gray? Wow. His name is too accurate, huh?

He held out his hand. I don’t have a plan to accept his hand but my friend pinched me at back. I let a soft ouch and quickly glared at Venus when I had the chance. I glanced at Gray who’s waiting for me to take his hand. I rolled my eyes again.

“Camila.” I shook his hand and also removed my hand back when I felt volts of electricity traveled in my body.

He smiled, “Beautiful name just like you.” then he winked.

I wanna laugh at him. He’s so corny!

“Well,” I smiled proudly with full of sarcasm.

When I looked at my friend, Venus, I saw that she’s stopping herself from smiling. I arched my brow as a question but she just shook her head.

“We gotta go!” Ven said after a while.

I didn’t answer her and she didn’t pay attention to me, either. She’s looking at Gray.

“You take care of my friend, Gray. Good luck! She bite.” her voice weakened in the end and chuckled playfully.

I didn’t heard it. I just looked at Gray who is now stopping himself from smirking. My brows knotted.

“Let's go?” he asked, offering me his hand.

I just looked at him and walked away first. I will never hold his hand while walking. Some of the people who didn’t left the church yet are looking at us.

“Stupid, Camila.” I whispered to myself when I realized that I didn’t know where he parked his car.

I waited for Gray and when I saw him nearing, I feel like the time stopped.

The sun is hitting his face, making the details of his gray eyes more defined... like how steel look when the sun hits it. My heart beats fast when our eyes met.

He smiled and I automatically looked away.

“There’s my car.” he said and I just nodded.

We walked together but of course, there’s still a space between us. I wouldn’t let myself walked near him... and be drowned again just like before.

I’m not sure what door I will open when we got in front of his car. Of course you’re in the backseat, Camila! I rolled my eyes and when I was about to open the backseat’s door, Gray spoke. What the hell!

“You’re not there. Here,” Gray said and pointed the front seat.

“No.” I insisted.

“No. You’re here. Someone will sit there.”

I rolled my eyes before following.

“Kidding.” he chuckled when he got inside, too.

What a jerk! I glared at him. Obviously, no one will sit there because if there was, she or he wouldn’t have been here earlier, right? Why so dumb, Camila?

But wait- Is he has a girlfriend? Oh, why do I even think about his girlfriend? So what if he has? If his girlfriend got jealous because she finds out that her boyfriend ride with someone, it’s not my problem anymore. I smirked evilly at my thought.

He started the engine and drive slowly. I stayed quiet because I don’t want to start a conversation. I breathe deeply and as he continued driving, the awkwardness I’m feeling were also get deepened, but I hope I’m not the only one who felt it.
