Standing at the door of the luxury suite on the ninth floor of Crown Hotel, Freya Quill took a deep breath.

She was there for a blind date. However, the match of the blind date was not a man, but a woman.

This was because she was working part-time in a dating agency that said when one party of the blind date was unable to make it, she would have to attend the blind date in place of the absentee.

Fortunately, Freya was 5.5 feet tall. Besides, given her superb makeup skills, it was not too hard to be disguised as a man.

She opened the door and strode in, only to find that there was someone in the bathroom.

Could she be taking a shower?

Freya clicked her tongue, marveled by the audacity of this girl to take a shower in the room alone during a blind date. Women these days really had no sense of vigilance!

Luckily, Freya was a woman. If she had been a shameless, unscrupulous man, this girl's chastity would have already been taken!

Just then, the bathroom door was swung open abruptly, bringing a wave of cold air towards Freya's face.

Freya was positively shocked. Why would this woman take a cold shower while it was already near autumn?

Following that, her expression immediately changed when she saw the person who emerged from the bathroom.

The person had a face so gorgeous that it could shake the world, his black-obsidian eyes as deep as an endless chasm. One would be doomed if they took a wrong step and fell into it.

His upper body was bare; water droplets were seen dripping down his angular muscles. Meanwhile, his lower half was wrapped in a bath towel. With his sharp V line, he was synonymous with the words seduction and temptation.

If this scene were to be photographed and uploaded on the Internet, it could be expected that a hoard of lascivious women would suffer from a nosebleed.

However, Freya felt nauseated now.

Something must have happened. Didn't she agree to meet a woman?

Why was it a man here?

Plus...

The man in front of her had a fiery glare in his deep obsidian-like eyes, as if he was going to have Freya swallowed into thin air.

Freya's immediate reaction was to sprint towards the door. She frantically swiped her access card against the lock but all her efforts ended up in vain.

Right then, the room was engulfed by darkness.

F*ck!

What happened? Luck must not be on her side for her to make a blunder so soon already!

Sure enough, Crown Hotel broadcasted that there was a power outage. At this moment, the only light source we had was the emergency light that was gleaming faintly on the ceiling.

There, against the flower printed wallpaper, hung a Western-style wall lamp, emitting a faint, enchanting glow.

"Who are you?" asked the man as he led the conversation, his voice gravelly and guttural, as though he was suppressing the loudness of it.

"I-I..." stammered Freya for a while. Her mind was whirling before she finally blurted out, "I am here for housekeeping..."

"Humph!" sneered the man as he suddenly took a step forward and grabbed Freya's wrist.

His touch on her wrist made him frown slightly. Right before his eyes was a short man. But why was this man's skin unmeasurably silky?

"All the employees of Crown Hotel wear uniforms. You are lying. Tell me, who sent you?" the man asked coldly, the black of his eyes slowly expanding.

She had never thought about this point. She scowled and answered, "I... I came in here by accident. Once the power comes back, I'll leave right away. I won't do you any harm!"

Fortunately, she was recently down with a cold. Hence, her voice was a little croaky, making her sound more masculine.

In one swift movement, the man cornered Freya against the wall and grabbed her delicate neck. "Tell me the truth. Otherwise, I, Virgil Blackmore, will not let you go!"
