In Greenhill City, by Greenhill Lake.

Finnegan Lim was wearing grey sportswear as he sat by the lake with his eyes slightly closed, his hair blowing in the wind.

Next to him, two men stood there respectfully; a man with a round belly in a suit and another skinny old man in a black robe.

The old man in a suit was Timothy Tang, from the Tang family of Greenhill City. He started from scratch and founded the Timo Group.

He was a big shot who could move all of Greenhill City by just lifting one of his fingers. As of now, he was bowing humbly at Finnegan at a straight 90 degrees. He politely handed Finnegan a pure golden card with the words Timothy engraved on it.

"There's no way I can repay your kindness. Thank you for saving my life. This is the VIP card of the Timo Group. Go to any of the subsidiaries of the Timo Group and with this card, you will be able to enjoy all the services we provide free of charge. Please accept it!" said Timothy with great respect.

If anyone else saw this scene, it would definitely make tomorrow's headlines!

Finnegan took the card and put it in his pocket. Keeping his eyes shut, he drawled, "After three days, I will come to treat you again. Help me to keep a close eye on the Four Great Ancient Families. If any of them comes to Greenhill City, let me know immediately!"

He paused for a while and added, "By the way, Quinley Yap needs a scholarship!"

"No problem!"

Timothy nodded before he got up and left.

After leaving the park, Timothy ordered, "Declan, send someone to follow him in secret. Let me know if anything happens!"

The slender, old man was Declan Liew; he was Timothy's bodyguard and butler.

"Sure, Master Tang!"

Declan replied. He wanted to say something but ultimately he decided to keep his mouth shut. He did not ask anything more.

The two of them walked away.

A child exclaimed, "Look, that maniac is acting crazy again. Let's smash his head this time. Let's see who can hit his head accurately!"

A few primary school students had just finished school and were on their way home. Their laughter echoed off the air as they guffawed aloud. A round-faced boy picked up a stone and threw it at Finnegan.

For the past five years, to avoid being insulted and abused by the Yap family, Finnegan would always come here after he finished his meal.

As time went by, other people found out that he was a fool. Soon, he became the target of the bullies.

Well, and these bullies included the primary school students.

As the stone flew over, Finnegan abruptly opened his eyes. He tilted and dodged the stone. At the same time, he caught it with his hand and held it in his palm, crushing the stone into pieces with his grip.

Finnegan looked at the tiny pieces of rubble in his palms and thought, "They were not turned into powder. This means that I haven't reached the heavenly stage yet. If I want to avenge my parents, I have to work harder!"

"What? That maniac actually dodged it? Come on, everyone, let's attack him together!" the round-faced boy shouted. He picked up more stones to launch at Finnegan.

Finnegan turned around and flicked his fingers. A tiny stone fragment escaped out of his hand and hit the school students' shins. Instantly, those kids cried out in pain.

"Maniac, how dare you hit us! Just wait, I am going to call my father! He is a Taekwondo coach. He'll kill you!"

The round-faced boy bawled.

Finnegan growled at them, "Get lost!"

Those primary school students all limped away at once.

"I am not someone to be trifled with. And, I shall never let anyone to get under my skin! Don't you dare judge me by my old self!"

His phone rang, and he picked up the call. Aleena Yap's voice rang out from the other side of the phone, "Finnegan, it's my Dad's birthday tonight. Where on earth are you? Why aren't you back yet?" Her voice was as cold as a blade of a shovel.

"Alright, I'll be back now!"

Finnegan got up instantly and returned home.

Aleena was Finnegan's wife.

Six years ago, Finnegan's parents knew that he was not as intelligent as others. They were worried that no one would care for him in the future. Hence while their family was still holding much influence, they gave huge benefits to the Yap family and arranged their marriage.

At first, the person he was supposed to marry was Camila Yap, the Yap family's eldest daughter. But, when the two families met up, Finnegan's parents took a fancy to Aleena, thus they changed their minds at the last second.

Finnegan's parents had a good chat with Aleena. Finally, both of them knelt and begged for her to agree. They hoped that Aleena could take care of him if anything happened to him in the future.

Aleena was kind-hearted; and, she could not refuse the marriage, therefore she agreed.

A year later, the Lim family encountered an unforeseen disaster. The family met their demise, and Finnegan's parents were killed.

When Finnegan was chased out of the house, he fainted on the streets. It was Aleena who saved his life.

Aleena's family was strongly opposed to bringing Finnegan home. Aleena grabbed a fruit knife and pressed it against her throat, threatening her parents that if they did not agree to have Finnegan as their son-in-law, she would take her own life.

At that time, the fruit knife had sliced open Aleena's neck, leaving a thin line of cut; scarlet blood was seen dripping down from the bloody wound.

When the Yap family saw this, they were immensely shocked, and they had no choice but to agree.

Because of this, the Yap's Household expelled Aleena's whole family. They were driven out of the capital city, and they eventually settled down in Greenhill City.

For the past five years, even though Finnegan was Aleena's husband, his life was no better than that of a stray dog.

Only Aleena was slightly kinder to him. Everyone else in the Yap family frowned upon his mere existence in the family. Truth be told, they would beat him or scold him every time they saw him!

The previous month, Finnegan turned 25, his intelligence finally began to recover.

Only then did he realize that he was actually a man of great talents. His strength was synonymous with that of a bull. On top of that, he actually had medical skills and knowledge. He could also see through objects.

But he did not know why he had such great strength, medical skills, and so on. It seemed like that part of his memories were completely gone.

In a house with two bedrooms and a living room, Aleena was reading a book in her room.

"What the f*ck... Don't you know how to support the team? Why did you go back to the base? Are you a f*cking idiot? D*mn it, none of you uses your brain at all! Ahhhhhhhh, we've lost..."

Aleena's younger sister, Quinley Yap, was playing computer games in the living room. She mumbled and swore from time to time. When she lost, she hit the sofa repeatedly. She was on the verge of breaking down.

At this time, Finnegan opened the door, and strode into the house.

Seeing Finnegan, Quinley jumped up from her seat all of a sudden. She pointed at Finnegan and roared, "You good-for-nothing idiot. I lost the game as soon as you come back. Why don't you just go to hell?!"

Aleena closed the book and came out of her room. When she saw Quinley kicking Finnegan, she frowned and said, "Quinley, that's enough. He is your brother-in-law!"

"Brother-in-law? Does he deserve that title? Aleena, are you still protecting this trash? If it weren't for him, would we have such a miserable life? This good-for-nothing idiot can't even be compared to one of Joseph's fingers. Tell him to get out! NOW!"

Quinley and Aleena started to quarrel.

Joseph Fang was born rich, and he had been pursuing Aleena for a long time. The Yap family thought highly of Joseph.

All Aleena had to do was to agree to his proposal. If she did, Joseph would be the son-in-law of the Yap family.

Aleena ordered, "Finnegan, come to my room!"

Aleena's face darkened upon hearing Joseph's name. She did not want to quarrel with Quinley anymore.

It was her father's birthday. Her father, Matteo Yap wanted to open a store, but he lacked money. The family had reached an agreement with Joseph. This evening, the family would let her be engaged to Joseph.

Once they were engaged, Joseph would take out 300,000 yuan to sponsor Matteo.

As for Joseph, he did not really love her at all. All he was after was her beauty.

Joseph was a rich brat—notorious for his ill repute—a pleasure seeker and philanderer.

What disgusted her the most was how Joseph abandoned a girl after he got her pregnant. The girl eventually jumped off a building and ended her own life.

She would never agree to the engagement.

"Humph!" Quinley snorted.

When Finnegan passed Quinley, she kicked him once more.

When he entered the room, Finnegan's heart ached a little seeing Aleena frowned with sadness.

He was only able to survive until now, thanks to Aleena.

Finnegan thought to himself, "Aleena, from now on, I will take care of you!"

Aleena tidied up Finnegan's clothes. After that, she took a ring of walnut shape and put it in Finnegan's palm, saying, "After dinner, give this to my dad, and say a few good things to him. Can you do it?"

Finnegan nodded at her.

"You are too confident. Why don't you say it to me first? Let's practice." Aleena still felt somewhat skeptical. Could Finnegan pull it?

Finnegan answered with a smile, "At that time, I'll say, I wish my father-in-law a long and healthy life. I hope everything goes well with his life, and that he always has the best of luck in his life!"

Aleena paused for a moment, stunned. She touched Finnegan's forehead and asked, "Finnegan, aren't you a fool? Who taught you these lines?"

Finnegan replied with a smile, "Aleena, I'm fine now. I have returned to normal. How would a fool memorize all these?"

"What did you just call me?"

Aleena was shocked once more. Finnegan had never called her name before.

"Aleena, are you going or not? If you're not, then I'll be going!"

Quinley shouted from outside impatiently.

"Forget it, let's go. You just need to remember those few lines that you just said!"

Aleena shook her head as she refused to believe that Finnegan had already returned to his normal self.

The venue for the birthday banquet was at Timo Hotel.

The three walked into the No. 3 private room. Harlow Liew, Finnegan's mother-in-law, stopped smiling when she saw Finnegan. She pointed at Finnegan and glared at him. "Aleena, why is this idiot here? Don't you know what we are going to talk about today? Get this idiot out of here immediately!"

Aleena frowned and rebutted, "Finnegan is your son-in-law. Today is Dad's birthday. Is it wrong for him to come?"

Harlow's eyes were wide open with anger. She shouted with her saliva spat out from her mouth, "I don't have an idiotic son-in-law like him. Tell him to get out of here at this instant, or don't blame me for being rude!"

Aleena said, "Finnegan, let's go!"

Aleena gritted her teeth and left with Finnegan.

Matteo Yap got up and stopped Aleena. He quickly chimed in, "Aleena, come take a seat. Finnegan, you too. It's not easy for us to have a meal at Timo Hotel. Let's not make a scene. Harlow, control your temper, please!"

In the office on the third floor of Timo Hotel, a middle-aged man made a phone call and said, "Greetings, Mr. Liew. Mr. Lim and the others are at Timo Hotel; they are in room 7. Today is Mr. Matteo's birthday. The whole family is here!"

"Good, call Kiefer and ask him to come over quickly. Let him explain the matter of Quinley's scholarship in person to the Yap family. Give Mr. Lim the best wine and dishes for free. Inform me if anything happens!"

Kiefer Loo was the headmaster of Timo Middle School, and Quinley was currently studying there.

"Sure thing, Mr. Liew!"

After he hung up the phone, the middle-aged man quickly dialed a number and immediately executed Timothy's instructions.

Harlow kept a sullen face as she glanced at Finnegan from time to time.

The door of the room was pushed open, and a young man in a suit came in. He had backcombed his coiffed hair into a shiny bouffant.

"Oh, is Joseph here? Please, have a seat!"

Harlow's face was wreathed in smiles when she saw Joseph.

She immediately rose to her feet to welcome him.

Joseph put down his bag and sat on the main seat. He looked at Aleena lewdly for a long time before he announced, "Mrs. Yap, I have told my dad about Quinley's scholarship. My dad and Mr. Loo from Timo Middle School are good friends. There shouldn't be a problem!"

Timo Middle School was one of the most well-known noble schools in Greenhill City. Students who went there had the highest chance to pursue their tertiary studies.

But the tuition fees were definitely exorbitant; they cost over 50,000 yuan for half a semester.

Quinley was in high school, and Harlow was unemployed at home. Hence, they could not support her to go there at all.

The school had scholarship programs, and that was to help students who had excellent grades or students who were poor.

If she were chosen, then all her tuition fees would be waived.

Quinley's grades were good, and her family was not that well-off too.

But there were still people whose grades were better than hers, and there were also people who were poorer than their family. Quinley was already eliminated.

Joseph had been chasing after Aleena. After hearing about this matter, he promised to help out. That was why Harlow asked Joseph to assist her in this manner.

"Joseph, thank you so much!"

Harlow remarked, "Joseph, you are really great. It would be best if Aleena could be engaged to you!"

"Thank you, Joseph. Thank you. Once Quinley receives the scholarship, we will definitely visit you to thank you!"

Quinley, Harlow, and Matteo all smiled and thanked him.

Harlow told Quinley, "Quinley, do you see that? In the future, if you want to find a boyfriend, you must find a man like Joseph. Don't find an idiot or a stupid fool who doesn't know how to do anything except eating and sleeping!"

Aleena remained mute; she was used to this kind of insult.

"Knock knock knock!"

Quinley went up to open the door. When she saw the man who arrived, she was shocked. She immediately greeted, "Mr. Loo, why are you here? Come on in!"

"Mr. Loo, please, have a seat!"

The man who arrived was the headmaster of Timo Middle School, Kiefer Loo. Matteo and Harlow both stood up, felt somewhat uneasy.

Kiefer said with a smile, "When I passed by, I heard that your family was all here, so I thought about coming in to tell you some good news. Another quota for a student to get the scholarship has been added, and Quinley is now selected!"

What?

The members of the Yap family were overjoyed. Their hearts beat fast with excitement.

"Thank you, Mr. Loo. Thank you so much. Thank you, really!"

Harlow bowed over and over again to Kiefer.

Since Kiefer was the one who made this announcement, then it must be true; Quinley had secured the scholarship!

Harlow, Aleena, Quinley, and the others all looked at Joseph gratefully. They thought that Joseph had asked his father to help them handle this matter.

If not, why was there suddenly an extra spot for the scholarship?  There were usually only ten spots per year.

Joseph puffed out his chest in pride. Full of spirits, he was smiling from ear to ear too, as he never thought that his father would be so effective.
