Rose;

I sighed as I finally finished the document that Mr Harper had requested. The man had been in a foul mood this past week and had been overworking the entire staff. Mostly me, of course.

I pulled out my phone as I sat and waited for Mr. Harper's phone call. I sent Luke a quick text, letting him know I wouldn't be able to make it to see him tonight. I cursed Mr Harper in my head as I hit the send button. I had really been looking forward to spending the night with Luke. This whole week had been hectic and we hadn't had any time together.

He was caught up with studying and working, and on my side, Mr Harper had been shoving work up my ass.

"Miss Adams, I do not pay you to sit around and text." The irrate voice had me throwing my phone on the table in fright. "Where is the document I asked for?" Mr Harper continued.

I gritted my teeth in irritation and took a long breath before I answered him as politely as a highly irritated and overworked PA would.

"Forgive me, Mr Harper. The document is ready, I was just about to bring it to your office and I was just simply waiting for your call, like you said I should." I said standing up and grabbing the document and stuffing it in a file. I refrained from rolling my eyes as I knew that wouldn't end well for me.

And God knows I needed this job.

"Good. Go put it on my desk I will look at it on Monday. Have a good night, Miss Adams." he said and he turned and walked away from me, heading for the exit.

I was gasping and choking with anger. Don't ask if that is possible because it is.

The audacity of this man! He had made me stay late at the office just so I could finish a document he would look at on Monday? I could have easily gone with it home, typed it there and brought it back on Monday

I groaned in frustration as I walked to his office. I threw the file onto his desk, not caring where it landed, and turned back towards my office.

And as I rode the elevator, I prayed that Luke had not made any plans yet. I had sent him that text just about ten minutes ago.

I decided to call him but sadly, he didn't pick up. I guess I would just have to head over there anyway since it seems he hasn't seen my text yet. I drove out of Harper and Co. parking lot, my car speakers blaring with Meghan Trainor's song  ‘Nice to meet ya'

I was an absolute fan of the song. It always put me in a good mood. I sang along to the track, and rapped the bossed out Nicki Minaj verse, and I realised that maybe my Friday night hadn't been totally ruined after all.

I parked my car in the parking lot of Luke's apartment, sighing in relief as I saw that his lights were on which meant he was probably home. I walked up to his apartment and was surprised to find it locked. I took out my keys which he had given me and I unlocked his door.

"Luke?" I called but heard no reply.

I walked up the stairs which led to his bedroom. I stopped short as I heard moaning and groaning. I did not need to listen for long so as to know what was going on on the the other side of the door. The loud girly voice screaming "harder" and "Oh, Luke!” were all the confirmation I needed.

I opened the door and walked into the room, making the couple sweaty couple on the bed freeze.

"Oh don't stop on my accord, I'm just here to pick up my stuff I left here last night." I said walking to his closet and grabbing my clothes which I kept at his house just in case I would decide to stay the night.

"Rose..." I heard Luke's voice behind me but I ignored it as I continued grabbing my clothes off his hangers in silence.

My mind was pooling with different thoughts. Most of them were on how to murder Luke. And others were thoughts on how badly Luke's betrayal really stung. I trusted this man with my life.

"It's not what it looks like, I assure you." he said, trying to stop me from taking my clothes.

I cocked a brow at him.

It's not what it looks like? Really!

Of all the excuses...

"Okay so maybe it is what it looks like," he sighed "but I swear it means nothing." he added.

"This right here means nothing. You're the important one babe. You're the one for me." He said holding my hand, his attempt to stop me from packing my clothes.

I looked at him, really looked at him. And I just couldnt see that man I have always loved. He just wasn't there anymore. I pulled my hand from his hold and I grabbed the last of my clothes and decided I would walk out without a word. Actions, they say, speak louder than words. So I would walk out. Out of his room, out of his house and out of his life, for good. I stopped at the door of his bedroom and turned back to the blonde that was still lying on his bed, covering the sheets that I had lain in so many times.

"Thank you, for giving him what I could not." I said to her and began walking away ignoring Luke's voice behind me.

I wiped away the tears that were streaming down my cheeks. I was parked in the parking lot of a club my friend Terra had taken me to once. Terra was my bestfriend. She and I had gone to high school together. I would have to call her after this.

As I walked towards the club, I thought about all the promises Luke had made to me. All he had done for me. Luke and his parents were the reason I was alive today. I would forever be grateful to him and his entire family. However, I just could not stomach this betrayal.

He had told me he understood. He had told me we would work up to it gradually. I should've known that his patience was simply because of the fact that he was getting it somewhere else. Actually, I was a fool to even think that any man would understand my predicament, even Luke who had seen and shared my experience.

I entered the club and the heat inside consumed me. I made my way to the bar and sat down immediately ordering the strongest shot they had. The barman handed me the said shot and I downed it in one go and immediately ordered another.

I felt exhausted. My boss was an ass and my boyfriend was a lying bastard. And no one really understood me at all.

The barman came and handed me an unfamiliar drink. One I definitely didn't order. Coz who the hell order some fruity drink when they are heartbroken and just want to get drunk?

"What is this?" I asked him with a frown.

"A gift, from the owner of the club." He said with a smile and my frown deepened.

"Does this owner of a club have a name?"  I asked and a man sitted beside me chuckled.

I had not noticed him sitting there. In fact I was sure that a couple of minutes ago he was not there.

"It's better off you don't know his name" the barman said before walking away to serve other customers.

"Well, cheers to you club owner" I mumbled taking a sip from the drink after raising the glass for a toast. I mean who says no to free drinks?

"My life is shitty" the mysterious man beside me said and I turned to look at him with a questioning brow.

He looked right back at me and god, he was absolutely beautiful. I know men aren't usually called beautiful but this specimen really was beautiful.

"I'm a lonely jerk who fucks for fun and I have past that haunts me in my sleep" he mumbled again.

Talk about TMI!

I gaped at him. And then I realised he was trying to get me talk. But he was a total stranger. I couldn't just start airing my dirty linen out to him. Hell, I don't even open up to me friends much.

But then my mouth began moving, the words spilling out before I could stop them.

"My boyfriend is a backstabbing asshole." I said then paused taking a sip of the complimentary drink from the so called 'club owner'.

It tasted good!

I made a mental not to ask the bar tender what the drink was called.

"And if I had a gun, I would shoot my boss right between his fucking legs" I said calmly then continued "but since I don't, I could always cut off his balls with that big sword he has in his office."

The male beside me simply smirked but nothing more. I didn't even see his teeth.

"I have this urge to bend you over this counter right now, and have my dirty way with you" he said, his intense gaze settled on my lips.

My breathing became shallow. In fact, I almost forgot how to breathe. My body came alive, something that hadn't happened in a very long time.

"Is it weird how I'm thinking of asking you to do that to me, in exchange for you killing my boss, of course" I asked in a whisper.

Oh I wanted him to bend me over. I wanted it so badly! But just a few hours ago, I'd have curled into a ball at the thought of a man touching me. Talk less of a stranger!

I got a small twitch off the corner of his lips this time. But still no smile. I was beginning to think he didn't smile a lot.
