—Forest outside the town of Avaris, Region of Arden—

A Swordsman of the Platina Draco Faith had to practice his craft to further one's growth in power and capability of safeguarding the lives of the innocent so Orlan did so, just that practicing his numerous crafts was—

"MEINE HERZEN WEINEN!" A booming voice came from the Lad as the reports from his hometown of rabid Wolves were correct to assume. As Several wolves crash against his shield whilst Orlan widened his stance to prevent himself from tipping over with His sword facing tip first against the first rabid wolf stabbing it in the eye and twisting it to then push back the others with the shield and executed a wide inward to outward shield bash which the wolves regroup and Circle him.

Orlan Avalané had decided to do his training at sunset, serving his community by slaying rabid wolves that were killing their livestock. He was told by the Cathedral and one of his sisters that it would be an easy task for him so they said.

"Twelve wolves, rabid Wolves." Orlan muttered to himself." Ea, You told me there were Five, FIVE!"

Without warning one of the Wolves managed to bite his calf to which the Swordsman smashed the tail end of Die Liebe's Shield and with a satisfying crunch of the beast's spine. Another had attempted to tackle him from behind to find itself gutted and cleaved transversely as it lost the light of its eyes.

The Spectral Blades of his Sword Burst circled Orlan almost menacingly as his Cobalt blue eyes seemed to glow unnaturally." For the Town of Avaricé, I will end your suffering. Iron Wrought."

As soon as the Wolves began to turn tails and run they were enclosed in a Dome. One of them breaches the dome to only whine in what seemed to be in pain as it killed itself by running full speed towards a tree.

There was no escape.

"Cloud of Daggers: Orlan style." Fifteen White Heat Spectral Daggers shot Five of the wolves dead. There were four remaining. He looked at them, not in disgust but pity.

As he walked the Spectral blades moved along with him as he gave the wolves a quick death. It was cruel to put animals down, but the safety of the lives of many out-weighed the few. Orlan made sure to take only the left ears as proof of the slaying and buried the wolves not losing any more of their parts and offered a small prayer to them. He made his way to the small stream to cleanse himself of the blood and offer to the graves a drink of water before walking back to the small cathedral to deliver the word and proof that the Wolves were dispatched was then given an adequate amount of monetary compensation for the trouble.

As soon as Orlan walked out of the Cathedral he was confronted by his Mother Elaine, the Onyx-haired and amber-eyed woman of five foot nine stature a whole 3 inches or so shorter than He, with a knowing melancholic smile as she hugged her son.

"How was your first Mission? Are you hurt?" Elaine surveyed his body raising his arms making sure her boy was not harmed. Seeing as there was nothing to worry about she let out a sigh of relief.

"Good to have you back Orlan, in one piece and unharmed, as you promised." She said as she gave her son a small pat on the chest plate. "I know it is too much of me to ask you to come home whenever you have your duties and soon, your adventures but please do so. Your sisters and I worry about your safety right after Jaune died."

Ah, yes Father's name. Been quite a while since I had last heard it, he thought to himself." No worries Mother. I will not leave you and the girls alone."

"You can still be a blacksmith like-a yer old lady, Ye know?"

Mother's accent always presents itself when she tries to hide something from him. Orlan Avalané knew of this.

"Mother, no, Ma I would have loved to be a Blacksmith. It's just, we need funding."

His family wasn't so let off that many would believe. They were by no means royalty much less nobility. They had enough to last a month at most and with the money brought in by the Faith bought them at least 3 months' worth of funding, from procuring food and the capital for the Family's small businesses.

Alanna's flower shop and Garden needed funding for the seeds, fertilizers, and the decorations in the shop, Victoria's Tailor shop needed hides, linen, furs, and thread to make the orders and clothes for both business and their Family, and the Family Tavern Home needed funds to feed both them and the guests that pass there for a drink or a bite to eat, and Ale was never cheap, and Mother's Smithy needed Ores to create her craft. They couldn't afford to even close one of their businesses in fear that they could not meet their ends meet.

Orlan shook his head, perishing the thought as he linked arms with his Mother and walked home.

It was well past two hours after Sunset and they had arrived at Chevalier de Blanc, Home sweet home. The Tavern was somewhat Lively with a few people drinking half of said people were some of the hard workers such as some of the guards the townspeople had, Farmers, small businessmen and women and the other half being children of the few Family friends of the Avalané. Most of them being Young ladies around if not close to Orlan's Age along with their Guards, being their Elder brothers.

Orlan would've made a move to ask about what his mother was hiding up until the 3 youngest of his siblings came and enveloped him in a group hug, a hug being Nora and Ruby were embracing his leg and the eldest of the whippersnappers, being Ea, tackled him effectively downing the Lad as he greeted his siblings with a poke to the cheek each.

"Boop."

A silly gesture but worked all the same as one by one helped him up giggling asking how his day went and such.

Moments later Alanna, Victoria, and Juniper arrived in their small home behind the tavern whilst Orlan's twin sister, Vivian arrived with a book at hand as they began to tease the lad to get into a relationship and that he was weird for fawning over his sisters and mother. Orlan that evening smiled. Family mattered to him most. He will not leave them alone. He would make sure they could all live comfortably. His word is a Promise and his Promise is his Life.

-Later that night-

Hollow, is what an Orlan Avalané was feeling within his chest as he looked at the destroyed field of the ruined Ordus coliseum. Today was a reminder for him, the death of his father Jaune de Blánc, a death of a good man.

All of it being his fault.

He sharply inhaled the cold air of autumn, picked up his sword and kite shield-sheathe, Die Liebe, putting his shield in front of him as he faced an imaginary foe. He lunged and swung his sword upwards in a diagonal manner forcing his faux foe to backpedal before he had impaled them.

Orlan could smell it, the scent of iron and rust, the smell of blood. He flinched as his breathing picked up its pace, his vision blurred for a moment, his knees buckled, as he deposited bile to the sandy field. Heaving his breath as he wobbled to the exit meeting a unknown woman with red hair dressed in ornate robes with a large glaive at hand approaching him with eyes filled with concern.

"How art thou dear knight?" She asked as she placed a hand on his face a gentle warmth he felt his balance return to him as the red haired lady placed his arm over her shoulder, she was 5 foot 10 stature shorter than Orlan by a few inches. The knight's face lit up red as he could smell her scent, reminiscent of Mint and Lavender tickled his nose. "I'm Alice, Sir Knight. Might you need assistance to walk you home?"

Alice's silver eyes glowed with purpose as she helped the woozy knight back at the Tavern to which she was met with a pissed off Elaine and a very livid Victoria. The Latter stomped over to them allowing her Golden waist lengthed hair bounce as her Azure eyes sharpened dangerously as she basically ripped Orlan off of the hussy, off of her Orlan. Seeing the venom in the eyes of her third eldest daughter Elaine decided to intervene with a welcoming but inquisitive tone.

"I thank you dear for escorting our Orlan home this late at night, but deary who are you to my son—"

"A friend." Alice instantly spoke with no hesitation. "Apologies, I was worried for him since he hath been visiting the Old Coliseum for countless of nights yet this night was the first he had trained himself to exhaustion."

Orlan was surprised, he hadn't notice this lass observing him in the coliseum and from what she was implying she had been watching him long enough to know his intensive training. He had noticed his Mother's eyes asking him 'Is she a friend of yours?' Her face was indiscernable so he simply nodded to his surprise

not

she tackled Alice gushing about giving her hope for Grandkids.

After a small snack, courtesy of Orlan's Cookies and baked goods, Elaine had led Alice to a guest room next to her twins, said twins being of course Orlan and Vivian.

The latter had Golden hair, amber eyes, and tanned skin, and a bored expression facing Orlan.

"So, Alice is your future missis?" The Knight groaned as her Necromancer Sister cackled, 'Blackmail get.'
