Atropos, the middle of the Fate Goddess, looked at her bloody hands, and she started breathing heavily. The wind was gently playing with her long white hair, showing her sympathy when her eyes stopped on those dead bodies all around her. With a lousy hunch, she slowly raised her eyes to look where she was, but as many times before, she regretted it. Nothing has changed at all.

Like thousands of times before, her heart started beating like crazy. She knew whose body she would find only a few inches from her, yet she hoped it would be different this time.

Even when she knew that what she saw would bring her nothing else than pain, her legs moved. She saw her sister Clotho's dead body as soon as she came. Clotho's hand tried to touch the fur of the black wolf, which was also lying dead only a few inches from her.

Atropos felt the first tear on her cheeks when she saw her beloved sister's death. She felt like part of her died with her sister. The emptiness in her heart was raised with every second because she knew that this wasn't just a mere dream. She looked at the sky, and she closed her eyes. She needed this time to take all her power because she already knew what she would see as the next. She wished to stay like that forever, but at the same time, she knew that it was pointless. It wouldn't stop what should happen.

She opened her eyes and looked around, knowing that she had to find another sister. She immediately found the place, but she heard her shriek this time. The shriek came right from her heart when she saw her sister in the arms of the man trying to protect her. Even after death, they were still holding each other.

Atropos touched her heart because the pain was unbearable. Her both sisters Clotho, as well as Lachesis, were dead.

She was waiting for her vision to end in that spot as always, but something was wrong.

Usually, her vision ended in that second when she found her second sister's body, but not today.

Something has changed.

She heard a distant laugh. It surprised her because she was sure there was no one on the battlefield except her. She was going to see who was the one that dared to laugh in this situation, but when she turned around, her eyes met with the most beautiful icy blue eyes that she had ever seen. It surprised her. She was so enchanted that she forgot even to breathe. She was so fascinated by those beautiful eyes that she failed at guardedness, and in the next second, she felt a sharp pain in her chest. Her heart began to beat faster. She knew that she had to move away or the blade would tear her heart apart, but she was still under the spell of those charming eyes.

Atropos was sure she would go crazy because she immediately fell for those beautiful eyes. Instead of fighting back or pushing the attacker away to release the pain, she wanted nothing else but to see those eyes stop crying. She wished to embrace the owner and reassure the owner that everything would be fine. She raised her hand, hoping that she would at least be able to touch the face that belonged to those eyes. Atropos didn't expect the person to use that moment against her, and suddenly she felt the cold blade piercing her body until it almost reached her heart. With every breath, she felt the sword stabbing deeper and deeper. Her blood was boiling from the pain, and every piece of her wanted to scream from the pain. But she remained silent. Something in those eyes stopped her scream, although to hold it cost her all her craft. She didn't know how long she was standing there trying to control the pain, but she had the feeling like it was the whole eternity.

She almost thought that time had stopped because even the pain was suddenly bearable. When she heard someone's mad laughing from behind, she realized that time didn't stop. There was someone else looking at her torment and even enjoying it. She knew that she had to take all her rest power to find out who the complotter was, because the one was undoubtedly the same person who killed everyone, but at the same time, it was wasting time chasing the mysterious phantom, knowing that death was coming.

Atropos was aware that it was necessary to find out who was responsible for all those barbarities, and she knew that she owed the truth to her sisters, but once in her life, she wanted to be selfish. Instead of finding who the conspirator was, she decided to find out to whom those eyes belonged. Somehow, she felt that the person was important to her. She was going to look at the person with such beautiful eyes carefully, but the one pushed the sword at Atropos's body to the till. The pain that she felt was unbearable. This time she couldn't hold back, and she screamed. She heard that the person behind her clapped her hands for excitement. The sick person was enjoying her pain. Atropos closed her eyes from the pain, and in that second, she heard someone's voice angrily whispered:

"See you in the next life."

She wasn't sure if the voice belonged to a man or a woman, but that wasn't important. Whoever it had hated her enough to kill her. So those beautiful eyes belonged to no one else, than to her enemy.

Before she breathed out for the last time, her last wish was that they wouldn't end as enemies if they met in the next life.

The vision slowly faded away, but Atropos still felt the pain in her chest. She looked at her shaking hands, asking herself why her vision had changed.

Suddenly she heard how her doors opened, and she sighed, knowing that to find the reason why fate had changed must wait.

She wasn't surprised when she saw that the one that entered her room without knocking was her mother Nyx, the Goddess of the Darkness. Her mother wasn't a person who would ask someone for permission.

Atropos clenched her fists so her mother wouldn't see how her hands were shaking, and she raised her head and looked directly at her mother, and she asked:

"What brought you here, Nyx?"

Almost immediately, she realized that she had made a mistake. Not just because she called her mother by her name, but also because she dared to speak first. Unfortunately, it was already too late to get it back. After Nyx heard that Atropos talked to her first, she stopped and looked at her. Even when she was still far away, Atropos saw daggers in her gaze, and she knew that if she weren't Nyx's daughter, she would probably be dead by now. Everyone knew that Nyx never tolerated anyone who questioned her and called her familiarly. Even as children, Atropos and her sisters were forbidden to call their mother, not the Goddess of the Darkness, and if they failed, she punished them.

They soon learned that it was better not to provoke Nyx to call her mother or by her name. When Atropos remembered those times, she clenched her teeth. Usually, she wouldn't make such a mistake, but her mother came at the wrong time. She was still upset after that vision, and her mind was still not clear enough when she got interrupted by her mother. Now she had to pay for it, and she didn't have doubts that her mother would find the perfect punishment for her wrongdoing.
