My name is Ruby Absilon, a 21 years old normal university student. About a few days ago, somehow I died of a car crash and now I woke up in an alternate universe, which unfortunately, is filled up with billionaires.

All, kinds of billionaires.

These people came like waves of tsunamis, targeting me like I'm their prey somehow while stating that I am their fate. Much like, right now.

The rules of this world is simple. Like in many romance novels with abused female leads and male leads that acted like a hero, this worlds go on that way. Because of that, these people would come and acted like the so called savior for these people and then would end up being their lover or husband. But I tell you I am not a damsel in distress.

Really, I'm not a damsel in distress.

If you called me stressing out over my cat running away from home a damsel in distress then something is definitely wrong with your brain.

But this world works like that, so anytime I'm stressed, I'll get help in a form of these people looking so grandiose in wanting to lend a hand. Unfortunately for me, I lost my cat and was looking for it, my chubby short legged munchkin Momo that likes to go to alleyways, I then stumbled upon a group of mafias minding their own business.

And when I said minding their own business, they should do the exact same as I did, which is ignoring them.

But NO, they're now seeking out for me because the mafia leader is there and he had laid his eyes upon me.

Oh, great.

"Look for her quick! You know it won't end well if the Mafia King is furious!"

That, is what one of the mafia group members yelled to the others as they scoured through the alleyways, looking for me who was hiding behind the trash bins.

"Meow~" Momo waddled her feet towards my side.

"Oh hey, Momo." I patted her silky soft fur and brought her close, patiently waiting for the mafia group to go away.

After a painfully long time, I managed to lose track of them. Sneaking out, I ran for dear life, carrying my fat and fluffy cat in my skinny arms as I frantically dashed through the evening street.

One thing I noticed about this world is that only the protagonists have clear face. All the other supporting character, or to be precise, the mob characters that didn't play a significant role in these billionaire's life will have their face blurried. And I dislike the fact that my face is not blurried.

But I do remember that one time, where this dangerously hot multimillionaire is looking for a contract wife and I went for the interview just so I could get the participation money of $10k.

I was elated to see how disgusted his face contorted into when I showed my face. With the word "You're ugly." That was thrown to me, he kicked me out, along with throwing the money.

I shouldn't really let people know that technique is basically how I managed to scrape by in this world.

With that money, I bought a simple house and all the necessities for a normal human being who's not even involved in all these billionaire's life.

Up until this day, I'm still waiting for another free giveaway interview like that.

I heaved a deep sigh when I finally reached my home, a small one room house in the suburban area with rent about $150 a month. Putting Momo down, I then slumped on the sack couch to catch my breath.

I don't know why did all these people claimed that venturing into another world is fun. It's unbearably exhausting especially if you're stuck in this world where riches is deemed to be everything. For me, money can't buy happiness.

And believe me when I said all the women who're together with these rich people are prone to unhappy things in their life. Betrayals and sufferings you call it. And the end is either eternal happiness or another episodes of sorrow.

I unconsciously snickered.

"Alright. Let's see what we can eat for today?" I stepped to my kitchen which was divided by a small dinner table fit for two person.

"Meow~" Momo meowed, asking for food. I should probably be saving the $10k I got to make sure I still have money until I managed to get a work. It's pretty hard to get full employment at the age of 21 if you didn't have a degree or a diploma or even a solid documents like your ID card or anything. I was glad that this universe has the same system like my old world, apart from the fact that both of my parents aren't exist here and I don't know anyone.

After I poured Momo's food, I sauntered to the kitchen and began cooking some eggs. I guess I'll have a simple sandwich tonight.

While I was humming as I flipped the eggs, I heard the sound of a door banging. I dithered to hear where did the sound came from.

To my horror, the banging sound came from my entrance door.

Did they find me?
