Please, oh please, let them be late. Traffic jams? Is the bus late? Client called? Anything to give me just ten extra minutes.

Taking a frustrated breath, I looked up at the red light.

Come on…come on… I silently beg the light to change.

Why is it that whenever I am in a rush, I hit every red light possible "Fuck! Just fucking change!" I know hell will break loose if I am not home in the next ten minutes. Finally, as soon as the light turned green, I started running. All I needed to do was hurry, and everything will be fine.

Right?

I ran into the driveway at 4:45. Thankfully I had thought ahead when I left earlier. Set the slow cooker on with curry bubbling away. "Okay, Okay…"

While rushing around the kitchen, I mutter to myself. I knew that If I didn't hurry…nope, I couldn't go there.

"Breathe, Em…just breathe." I remind myself, setting the bowls of curry down. Running around as quickly as I can manage, I set the table,

I was not going to make mistakes again.

I winced at the thought. I ensured I washed and dried all the cookware and the room was spotless.

At 5:00, I hear the garage door rolling up on the dot. Breathe, panic began to rush through me. A few moments later, they walk in. Of course, they would never be running late; the alpha and luna would never make it home a minute past their scheduled time.

"Mongrel." She asks, taking off the white fur coat just below her knees. While he makes sure her jacket is hung perfectly. They finally look up at me with their cold, dead eyes.

The alpha and luna silently permitted to speak.

"Good evening, Alpha and Luna Riden. Things were normal as always today. I Did some laundry, ran the errands you asked me to do, and got home around 3:00. I know you said, "The alpha of the Orion pack was thinking of coming this weekend, so I wanted to make sure I had enough time to get the guest room situated before I started dinner."

Fuck, they were all lies…but hopefully just hoped they would be enough to convince them I wasn't out.

"Hmmm." the alpha growled. at the same time, rolling the sleeves of the brown shirt up. "So," He said as he looked up with his evil smirk, fangs showing and an overwhelmingly powerful aura. "That wasn't you; I just saw you running down Piroks Street?"

Fuck. Me. Shit.

"Alpha, I'm sorry; I swear it's not what you think." I squeak out. Shit, this is going to be bad. "Jeremy wanted an update on how the pack is-"

His smile stops me cold, sending shivers down my back. While, the luna seemed amused, sitting in her chair with her legs crossed. Immediately I started backing away.

"Now, Mongrel. What have I told you about my son? My pack's heir? Hmm? If I remember correctly, it was something like, "you are not to talk, call or take calls from him and not look at him !"

He is starting to step closer now. "when will you get it through your dumb head through your dumb fucking head? You are nothing; you are wolf-less, Packless; you don't get to look or talk to the pack. Jesus Christ, you stupid fucking bitch."

"What part of you being a mongrel do you not get? Do you hear me, Mongrel?" He sneers at my status like my very presence disgusts him.

He has me backed into the corner between the kitchen and lounge, no escape in sight. "No fucking pack in this goddamn world will ever take you. You are fucking worthless. No one has ever wanted you, you are nothing, and no one has ever taken you in and looked after you. Only. Fucking. Me!" He continues, his eyes bulging out and his spit hitting me in the face.

"You're nothing but a stupid fucking Mongeral, isn't that right? You're the lowest creature. I should have killed you, you waste of fucking space." He steps back and strikes me across the jaw.

I squeeze my hand into a ball and dig my nails into my palms to keep from screaming. I might be a prisoner here, but I'll be damned if I will let them break me.

"What did I fucking say, Mongeral? You are to be here.

Cleaning my fucking house, cooking our fucking dinner. He reached out and grabbed a bowl of curry, throwing it with all his strength against the wall. I watch chunks of meat, sauce, and rice run down the walls. "And what is this fucking shit? I told you, you fucking bitch, The luna wanted calzone. Does that look like fucking Italian food?"

His fist hit my temple, knocking my vision into a blur. I catch the second hit in the ribs, knocking the breath right out of my lungs. The alpha grabs my thick red hair, and I'm at his mercy with a twist of his wrist.

Mercy, I know they didn't have. My eyes pleaded with the luna, who sat there laughing to herself.

The alpha dug his nails into me before Throwing me to the floor; the alpha was about as strong as 20 human males.

He is quick to send a kick to my stomach.

"You bloody Mongrel. You can't listen, can you? I own you," Kick…kick…..kick. "You're never going to learn, are you?"

I lost track of time and wasn't sure how long he stood over me, beating me, alternating between his feet and his fist.

Freedom that's all I crave now. I want to be free.

I close my eyes and welcome the darkness.

When I wake up, the house is pitch black.

Every bone hurt. I knew something was broken, and I couldn't take a deep breath without wanting to die. Clutching my arm around my middle for support, I slowly climb to my feet. I look around; with a slow and silent step, I glance into the living room.

No sign of the alpha and luna. Shuffling, more like dragging myself to the door. I pull at the door. I walk along the wall feeling my way and holding on for support until I reach the handle. Praying that it would be open for once. There was a deep husky kind voice outside the door that I faintly recognized.

Jeremy?

I take a painful shallow breath and rasp out the only word I can.

"Help…".
