In the middle of the night, the mansion was silent. Farrah Ventura carefully opened the door and walked downstairs into the kitchen gently.

During dinner, Brandon Enriquez and Mrs. Melanie Enriquez quarreled again because of her. She was an orphan who was fostered there.

The Enriquez family was always having an argument because of Farrah. She knows that sometimes she's a burden to them but she didn't leave because she has nowhere to go. Farrah could only hide in her own room and listened to their voices, without even having dinner. But in the middle of the night, she was really hungry and her tummy was growling so bad. She couldn't hold back her hunger.

She opened the two-door refrigerator, and Farrah only found two slices of white toast. She doesn't want it but she doesn't have a choice. It's better than nothing.

Suddenly, a strong light flashed outside the window. She looked at it and realized that someone came home, she could hear the car engine inside.

Farrah skillfully hid behind the kitchen door, listening to the movement while chewing toast.

The hall door was pushed open, and there were familiar footsteps.

Farrah decided to find out who was the person who had just come. Her curiosity was killing her. She closed her eyes before counting. When she reached ten, she started to move carefully without making any noise and went to the kitchen door.

The moonlight was thick, white, and cold, and it was giving light inside the dark mansion through the glass window. Farrah could hear nothing but her heartbeat and footsteps.

The man closed the door and walked to the staircase. His body was like a model, straight and slender.

Farrah watched him for a moment and averted her gaze to continue nibbling on the toast contentedly.

She hadn't seen him for almost a week and Farrah actually thought that she wouldn't see him again today, but he came back unexpectedly.

She hid the excitement in her heart and ate the last bite of bread in silence and patted the crumbs that fell into her thighs. When she heard that there was no movement outside, she opened the door and walked out.

As soon as she came out of the kitchen, when she looked up, Farrah froze there.

On the wide stairs, Jeffrey Enriquez, who had taken off his suit jacket, was leaning on the railing and smoking a cigarette. His posture was casual and relaxed, not his usual meticulous and aggressive appearance. The moonlight fell on his pure white shirt, a faint halo appeared, and the figure was hazy. He looks like a fictional character that came out of the book.

Farrah stood at the door of the kitchen like a frightened deer.

Jeff turned his face in her direction.

The hazy moonlight outlines his delicate and three-dimensional facial lines, but Jeff's eyebrows are hidden in the dark.

He seemed to be looking at her. Or…

Was waiting for her?

Farrah was at a loss for a moment and unconsciously put her smooth and thin arms behind her. She pinched her own nervously and then walked up the stairs.

Walking in front of Jeff, Farrah raised her head, and only then did she see his eyebrows clearly.

Sure enough, he was looking at her. His eyes were thin and on the flick, and there seemed to be a smile at the corner of his mouth but it was not obvious.

"Didn't you have enough to eat tonight?" he asked.

"Uhm…" Farrah thought for a moment before she slowly nodded. Her face was so innocent.

Jeff looked at her thin and smooth shoulders.

"What about now?"

"I'm full after eating two pieces of toast," Farrah answered truthfully.

Jeff continued to smoke. The scarlet light between his fingers coming from his cigarette reflected a faint smile on the corner of his mouth.

"You're really good to be fed," he said.

Farrah didn't know whether that was a good word or a bad word, so she raised her eyes to look at him.

Jeff just looked at her with deep eyes and stopped talking.

Farrah gradually began to feel a little uncomfortable. She revoked her gaze and turned to go upstairs, but who knows, she stepped on the air and fell forward and was about to meet the hard surface of the stair!

Jeff's eyes were bright. He quickly threw the cigarette butt and reached her waist to catch her.

The palm of his hand was unexpectedly soft.

Farrah froze, and Jeff didn't move for a while.

The moment the blood in her whole body rushed to the top of her head, Farrah came back to her senses. At that moment, thousands of thoughts ran through her mind. Her mind and heart were clearly in an extremely chaotic state, but her body was miraculously calmed down.

She didn't dodge, she didn't evade, she just turned her head and met Jeff's gaze.

Farrah has a pair of deer eyes, and the eyes are clear and bright under the moonlight.

That silk light was clearly born for him.

Jeff stared at her.

That year, she was 10 years old and he was 25 years old.

For the first time, Jeff realized that the little girl who came to Enriquez's house at the age of 10 had grown up.

Eight years later…

In May 2010, Farrah was already 18 years old and was about to take the college entrance examination.

The breeze passed through the forest and the light-colored curtains moved with the wind. Farrah was lying on the desk, counting the rotating hands on the watch.

On the fifteenth day of the lunar calendar, the Enriquez family's customary banquet day occurred. Everyone from the Enriquez family should be there.

Farrah was looking forward to it in her heart, but she didn't dare to look forward to it too much.

In the past year, Jeff seems to be busier and busier and often not going home for two weeks.

Farrah had kept the habit of snacking at night from a year ago but rarely saw him late at night. The last time they met was more than a month ago.

The minute hand turned around and a black car drove into the Enriquez mansion's gate.

Farrah suddenly stood up and watched the car parked in front of the court from far to near.

A minute later, Jeff pushed the door and got out of the car.

"Jeff…" Her eyes became more alive. She couldn't hide her excitement because he was finally back!

Farrah turned and walked out of the room. When she came to the stairs, she stopped, looked down at her whole body, took a deep breath, and then walked down.

When her figure appeared on the stairs, Jeff just entered the door.

There were a lot of people in the living room. Melanie came from the kitchen and sat on the sofa, chatting with two aunts, two oldies, and four uncles while tasting red wine. On the other hand, several younger brothers and sisters were playing new video games in front of the TV.

Amidst the commotion, Jeff saw Farrah standing on the stairs at a glance.

On the first day of eighteen, Farrah tried a red dress for the first time.

The weather in May is still a little cold, the skirt is only above the knee, and the chest of her sleeveless top part is a little low but it perfectly outlines the curves of an adult woman. The rich and warm colors complemented her snow-white skin, but her eyes became more and more radiant.

Farrah has been very good-looking since she was a child. After entering adolescence, her features became clearer and brighter. Fortunately, those deer eyes were clean and clear, and the charm was washed away.

Such a look should have been matched with the most intense and full colors, so she looked good in red.

Farrah knew that wearing this way would make many people in the room unhappy, but she was still self-willed.

On the first day of her adulthood, she wanted to be the best version of herself, just to please one person.

Jeff looked at her with deep and quiet eyes.

Farrah met his gaze and walked down the stairs slowly, stepping on her own heartbeat.

Jeff was still standing at the door. When Farrah walked down the last step, Jeffrey revoked his gaze, turned to look out the door, and walked out.

The next moment, he walked in with a girl.

"My girlfriend, Stella Salgado," Jeff said to the people in the living room.

Everyone immediately looked towards the door, looking at the girl who was being led by Jeff.

No one paid any more attention to Farrah.

She was the most eye-catching presence in the room, but at that moment… she lost all color.
