  Present Day, 201X

A lively smile flashed across her lips as she stared at her own reflection in front of the mirror. Her cheeks were already colored because of her doctor's continued care for her. The only proof that she went through a severe test was the scar on her chest. She had grown for the past years. It was visible right now. It was as if she did not go through something so painful and heartbreaking by just looking at her reflection.

Her formerly hollowed cheeks and emaciated body had grown a lot. There was also a twinkle in her eyes that was not there before. It was as if she did not think of giving up before. It was as if she did not think of not living her life any longer.

She could not believe that this time would come — that she would withstand the trial of his life. She could not believe that she would be able to live past her teens. She could not believe that she would still here here right now. She was ready to give up before but here she is now, smiling and alive. Based on the smile on her lips and the twinkle in her eye, it seemed as if she had not gone through a severe test. She did not seem to have experienced hardship and pain. It was as if she has been like this all her life.

With the twinkle in her eyes, it seemed as if she had never thought of giving up the fight. It was as if she was fighting her whole life. It was as if she was meant to be alive in the first place.

She glanced at the calendar hanging on the wall of the studio-type apartment she was staying in here in the states. She will only wait one day and they will meet again. She could no longer wait. She could not wait to see the person she wanted to see since she left the country. She could not wait to let him see how much she had grown for the past years. She could not wait to hold him in her arms once again. She could just not wait to see him. She could not wait to love him once more.

  "Excited?"

Smiling she turned to the speaker, her friend the doctor. She nodded one after another. "So much. I can't explain the feeling. It's just that... I want to see him. Right now."

The doctor laughed and approached him. He handed her a white envelope. Excited he opened it when he recognized the handwriting on the opening.

Miss, I miss you. I'm so excited to see you. I want to hug you, the real thing, okay? Not the You I see in the web. I love you.

His smile was probably ear-to-ear because of what was stated on the simple white paper inside the envelope. If this one is excited, he is even more so. But they will meet as well.

  She's coming home. Soon.
