"Ahhh!"

It was twelve in the midnight when a heart-wrenching scream came from the labor room.

"Miss Qiao, come on! Push harder!"

It had been 13 hours since she entered the labor room. Qiao Chuqian was lying on the hospital bed as she was panting for her breath, her fore was soaked with sweat and tears were welling in her eyes. 

She had run out of steam. 

"The baby could not wait any longer! Come on Miss Qiao, this is the final push!" The doctor said nervously, almost shouting. There was absolutely no time to waste in this situation. The baby could die anytime now, together with his mother...

She grabbed the bedsheet under her and with all her strength... 

"Arghhhhh!!"

She wouldn't die here! And her baby must live!

Seven years later, at Shanbei Airport...

A boy approximately seven years old was standing in the airport lobby. He impatiently waved at the woman who was pushing a trolley walking towards her. In just a subtle moment, he had already reached the woman's side and grabbed luggage from her. 

"Mommy! Hurry up! We have an appointment with Lu Qi at the amusement park, aren't we?" His eyes lit up when he said the word "the amusement park".

Qiao Chuqian was wearing a suit and a pair of beige-colored heels. 

Reaching her hand to the little boy, she hugged him in her arms as she said in a soft voice, "Jingyan! I am a little tired now. We just had a long flight. Can we not go to the amusement park straight away and instead let me rest for a while by having a meal with Lu Qi?"

"No!!! You said that we are going to the amusement park right away!" 

Chuqian smiled but did not reply. Together, they walked out of the airport and saw a blue BMW the moment they stepped out of the exit. 

A man with a clean-cut and casual suit stepped out of the car.

"Chuqian!" he greeted her. 

"Qi." She replied with a faint smile.

Qiao Jingyan's face immediately lit up with joy. He ran over and said, "Uncle Lu!"

The man bent down to hug the boy who had already run into his arms. "You are taller now, aren't you!"

"For sure, I have to be tall enough to protect mommy."

His words made Chuqian laugh. She shrugged and walked quickly to Lu Qi.

"How are you?" Lu Qi said. 

She nodded, acting as if she did not care much. "Fine. Come on! I am starving. Let's go!"

"Alright!" The man looked at her with doting eyes and helped her with the luggage. Jingyan had no choice but to accept the arrangement.

Qianchu thought it would be a nice day for her to return.

Nevertheless, life is full of coincidences.

She had never expected she would encounter that man seven years later...

He walked toward her, leaned over, and whispered beside her ear.

His low voice was enchanting, yet uttering the cruelest words in the word, “I swore, on the day you left, that I shall never see your face again in the rest of my life!"
