April shuddered as a plate hit the ground in a chattering noise. Vincent was on a tirade again. If this continued...it was going to end like last time. She ending up in a hospital.

"Vincent I'm sorry....I really didn't mean to stay out late last night we had a team dinner....our boss wanted to buy us dinner last night so...." April shivered as she spoke. The truth was April feared Vincent. His presence alone was able to send shivers down her spine. But she couldn't get out of the relationship. She just couldn't.

"I told you that I don't want you talking to other men!! Don't you get it? What if you leave me for some other person out there? What am I going to do?!" Vincent roared. He only had April. There was no way he was letting her leave him.

"I won't leave you Vincent I have no reason to. Please don't do this" April pleaded. She had lied about not leaving him. She would give anything to get out of this relationship.

But Vincent just wouldn't let he leave. If she left, her younger brother who was in a boarding school was going to pay for it. That was the same thing he'd told her over and over again. April better not have any thoughts of leaving him, if she wanted her brother to remain alive.

"I don't believe you. I want you to quit that job of yours April. I have enough money. You don't have to work for other men April" Vincent said.

April's heart skipped a beat. She feared this day was going to come. Now he was asking her to quit her job. Very soon he would lock her up in the house and make sure she didn't leave.

"I really can't quit my job Vincent. I worked really hard to get this job. Please....." April wasn't done with her words when a heavy slap landed across her cheeks.

Slowly Vincent removed his belt. April knew what was coming. She was about to be physically abused again. This was Vincent's pattern. If she went against him, she was going to get a beating.

Thirty minutes later, April was lying on the floor with marks all over her body.

Vincent who was sweating profusely crawled over to her and embraced her.

"I'm only doing this because I love you. You know that I love you. I don't want you to leave me that's why I'm like this. Don't ever leave me okay?" Vincent said. April was never leaving him. She was his! He was going to make sure she stayed.

April closed her eyes and let Vincent embrace her. She couldn't refuse him anyway. Her life and her brother's life was in his hands. There was no where she could go. No one she could run to if she decided to just walk out. This was her fate.

Dylan was going through documents in his office when his mother Danielle walked in. Dylan rolled his eyes. He definitely wasn't in the mood to talk to her.

"Hi Dylan. Why have you been avoiding my calls?" Danielle asked. Since he had decided to ignore her calls she came in person.

"As you can see Danielle I'm very busy and I don't have time for this. Please leave" Dylan said. His mother was trying to get him to marry Danielle. But he had no interest in this woman.

"Can I tell your mom how you are treating me right now? She wouldn't be happy to hear it" Danielle threatened.

"You can do whatever you want Danielle. Just leave please" Dylan said.

"Why are you trying to run away from me Dylan? In the end you are going to do what your mother wants. You and I are going to get married" Danielle said with confidence. She was sure of it. No matter what Dylan wanted, the both of them were going to get married.

"You can think whatever you want Danielle. You and I won't have anything to do with each other. Please leave" Dylan said.

"Why are you trying to fight it Dylan? It's useless and you know that" Danielle said.

"Do you really need me to call security?" Dylan asked.

"Alright fine. I'll leave. But know this. I'll be back" Danielle said and walked out.

When Danielle left, Dylan pressed the intercom and his secretary, Cole walked in.

"Why did you let that woman in?" Dylan asked.

"You know how Danielle is. I really couldn't stop her" Cole said.

Dylan sighed. Of course he knew how Danielle was.

"Your mother called. She wants you to come home early" Cole informed him.

Dylan sighed. He knew exactly what she was going to talk about.

April was sitting in the house hurdled up in a corner. She couldn't even go to work. If she dates it, Vincent would come make a scene there. He had done it several times. He was at work now but April knew she had to stay put. If she didn't want to receive another beating.

The door opened and someone walked in. April shivered thinking it was Vincent but it was her friend and Colleague Lena

"April where have you been? You didn't even show up at work today and you've not been picking your calls" Lena said when she entered the house. She stepped back when she saw April curled in a corner with marks all over her body.

"What happened to you April? Why are you like this?" Lena asked. It was obvious she had been crying for a long time.

"It's...it's Vincent again....." April said the tempo of her tears increasing.

"What? Vincent did this to you?! How can he do this to you? We have to get him arrested for abuse!" Lena said. She couldn't imagine how Vincent could hit his girlfriend like this.

"Leave it alone. It's not like this is the first time he's doing it? I can't do anything to him" April said her tears increasing.

"Wait... Vincent has been treating you like this for some time now and you kept quiet about it? Why?" Lena asked.

"He was angry because I came home late after the team dinner. He flared up when he found out that our boss was there too. He said he didn't want me near other men" April said sniffing tears.

"What?! He's physocotic then!!!" Lena said
