Who am I? I am Olsen Xlavie. The only surviving member of my bloodline. I am on a mission. One I'm yet to know of because it's meant to unfold as I journey to Badamus; the forgotten Isle. One I was pushed to embark on after the seer's visit two days ago. A seer I only saw once before that day. That one time I was only but seven. After a muffled conversation with my mother, he left, my mother followed the next day and I never saw her again. And here I am in the middle of nowhere, a rather dense forest with no clue as to how to get to Badamus without a map.

I've been walking for hours now and seriously need to get off my feet. My feet are killing me, they feel as though carrying the weight of the universe. I can't get myself to rest for fear of not being able to continue. I haven't seen anyone for miles now except for looters who waylaid me awhile back and made away with my horse and dufflebag containing all I packed for my journey including the map and food. The night is eerie and pitch black. The trees casting monstrous shadows around giving the forest a haunted look with each rustling of leave nearly giving me a heart attack.

I'm almost getting to a clearing but can't seem to shake off the niggling feeling that someone or something is looking at me. For a while now, I've been feeling a premonition, an unfamiliar sensation of peering eyes boring holes into my back. I instinctively realise that I'm not alone. I'm not sure how I know but I do. My feet move faster on their own accord leaving the rest of my fatigued body to follow. I strain my eyes in the dark hoping to reassure myself that I'm alone and notice nothing out of the ordinary. From the corner of my left eye, I can see two red lights. Humans finally! My mind screams. Turning towards that direction, another pair of light appears, then another and another. There is something spooky about these lights. Lights don't just appear in pairs, that I'm sure of. All of a sudden I notice that those are not lights. They are eyes. A lot of eyes. I take to my heels. My legs automatically forgetting how exhausted they are. My whole body at alert. My brain trying effortlessly to locate a faster exit. It feels as though I'm no longer in control of myself, as if an unknown force has taken over my body.

"Run!" The wind mutters to me. Turning to my right, I run like I've never done before. For a while I run, propelled only by a force I can't explain. I've lost track of time. I can't even tell how long I've been running. Branches bruise and tear at my skin. The only thing that keeps me going is that voice that keeps on chanting run into my ears. As though in a flash, the voice stops, the whole forest falls silent but my feet continue on their flight. Turning to see if my pursuers are still at it, I miss a step and do not see the fallen branch in front of me until it is too late. I stumble and fall, tumbling down what seem like a hill. Sands, diets and fallen leaves finding their way into every hole in my body. My mouth, my nose, my ears. Broken twigs tear at my skin and cloths. I realize that by the end of my descent I will be worse for wear.
