"Once upon a time there was a woman named Shianna, a human. It was summer vacation so her family decided to go to her grandparents in a barangay.

Once they get there, Shianna was so happy because she could see a lot of trees, animals, and so on. Unlike in the city.

One day, Shianna got bored so she decided to have a walk around. She keeps on walking until she notices that it was full of trees. But she continues to walk because there is a trail so she decided to follow that. After minutes of walking, she found a wide rice plantation.

She continued to walk but then, she saw a black oval shape mirror. In Shianna’s mind, it was a portal-”

I yawn as auntie Rina was telling me a human and a vampire story, something like that.

"Shianna got confused, so she decided to enter that black oval shape mirror what she called portal *blah *blah *blah-"

I couldn't understand anything now because my eyes were falling into a deep sleep.

The next day, I woke up with the sun’s rays that hit my face from the window. I stretched my arms and sit in bed. Then, I remembered tita Rina's story last night about a human and a vampire story something like that, I'm not sure. But tita said it's a vampire and human story all about. I wonder what happens next? Hmm?

Like, come on! Since I was a child, that story was auntie Rina’s always been telling me until now that I am twenty years old, she always telling me that story. But I still couldn’t listen to the ending of the story because I always falls asleep. So I wondered what’s the end of that story. It still confuses me. Curiosity kills the cat they say.

I do not know whether she also tells Ashley which was her daughter or she only tells me. Well, I don't know, Ashley’s room was separate from mine.

That human and the vampire's story made me confused, I've watched so many vampires and werewolf movies on tv. But I felt that auntie Rina's story is different I just don't know where's apart.

Or maybe tonight. Right! I’ll listen until tita Rina finally tells the ending of the story. I just need to be wide awake. I'm a genius alright. I smirked at that thought.

" Luinsse Nathalia!!! Wake up!! " Ashley shouting while knocking on the door.

"I'm wide awake!" I shouted back.

"The door's locked!"

I unlocked the door and open it seeing Ashley in front of it.

"What?" I asked.

“What ‘What?’” She even mimicked the way I said it. “Oh come on! Have you ever forgotten that weekends are over? Huh?” The side of my lips lift and yawned.

"Gosh! It’s Monday, Nat!" she added.

"Oh?" I shortly said and not interested which made her face fall in disappointment because of what she heard from me.

"Aish! We’re going to be late! Full yourself!” and she turned her back against me.

Tsk. She’s OA. I know that we are back to school again since weekends are over. Was it because I gave her that reaction, I already forgot that it is Monday today? Psh.

I went to the bathroom to take a bath then I brush my teeth after and go out of the bathroom after I finished my routine. I picked a pair of faded jeans, a white t-shirt. I didn't wear my uniform because we’re having a practicum today which is art. It’s our first period in the morning. I also wear my converse shoes.

After I had taken my bag, I finally went out of the room and close the door. I walked towards the kitchen counter where auntie Rina is preparing breakfast while Ashley is already sitting on the high chair and already eating her breakfast.

"Good morning auntie!" I greeted her and kiss her on her right cheek. It's a routine every morning.

"Good morning too, Nat-nat. Have a seat and eat."

"Thanks, auntie!" I turned my head to Ashley who was eating. I greeted her with a 'good morning' too and she greeted me back.

I sit in one of the high chairs and started to eat. The breakfast is fine.

Fried egg and a hotdog.

When I finally finished my breakfast, I got up and put my plate in the sink. I was about to wash the dishes but auntie Rina offered help.

“Just go ahead so you won’t be late.” She smiled at me and I smiled back.

I brushed my teeth again. My classmates might smell the hotdog, especially the egg which is slimy. Ashley finished the routines first. We picked our bags and kiss tita on her cheeks and finally bid our goodbyes to her.

“Take care, Ash and Nat-nat!” Ashley and I both waved our hands to her mother before we completely turned our back and began to walk away.

We went to a waiting shed to wait for a tricycle that will drive us on the way to our school. Our waiting didn’t last long when there was a halt.

“You guys are on the way to school?” We nodded to the tricycle driver as a response to his question before we completely hop in the tricycle.

Ashley’s house isn’t too far away from school but we still really need to ride a tricycle to get there.

After a few minutes, we finally got to school. We paid the tricycle driver before going down on his service. Ashley and I walked together. When we were in front of our school gate, we both show our school ID to the school guard. The times when Ashley and I are together are often, sometimes we have been called twins. But we are not alike. Maybe for them, we are identical twins.

But we weren’t.

We have different mothers. But my mother died in a car accident when I was little. That's what auntie Rina said to me. My mother and auntie Rina were best buddies back then, according to her stories. Not to mention that they are sisters. And I saw pictures of them together too.

Just one more step we are finally inside the school but suddenly stuck in the air the step I would do because of something or should I say animal, that I saw in the side of my eye and I didn’t know that I would see something like that.

I blink my eyes and I see none in that direction.
