The present-day was like any other.

The birds were whistling, the wind was whirling, and the sky dazzled with sunshine. This is how she felt every time she cycled through the tunes of luscious green bushes and shrubbery. The enclosure surrounding her was no less than a treat to the sour eyes. The hue of the cherry blossom tree faded as the distance increased, yet in the end, it still looked beautiful.

There was something tranquil about this environment that made her feel at ease and added a sparkle to her face. There was a consolation. You had a sense of comfort as if you were a child of nature.

Good surroundings bring nothing but joy and positivity to the creatures living inside them. There is a sense of peace and assurance that no force in the world can harm you. There is no negativity or recognition of vengeance.

Even a fleeting look or experience of the beauty around delighted her. People passing by as she made her way through them smiled briefly at her and said "hello," to which she responded with her own grin. The kids hopping through or walking hand in hand with either of their parents merrily let out a wave or called out her name while she saluted them or gave them a hi-fi as she rode passed by them.

While on one side, she felt at home, at the same time, she had a lingering sense of desolation deep inside her. Heather Crown strongly believed that everyone has a purpose in life, but she was still seeking for one.

The folks in the village regarded her as a pure soul. They saw her as a reservoir of health and prosperity.

Even though she never thought of herself as one, she always respectfully acknowledged them with a thankful grin.

What else could she possibly say to them?

They looked at her with dignity and respect, and that in itself filled her heart with warmth and affection.

Of barely two years, the residents in this village had become her family. They took her in when she had no one else to turn to. They had raised her and nurtured her. Instead of just turning their backs and leaving her to fend for herself, they gave her nourishment, apparel, and shelter over her head. They embraced her with open arms as one of their very own when she was thrown at their doorstep with nothing but little dignity.

It was only because of this village that Heather could stand on her two feet and live her life well, yet something was awry.

Despite having everything she could ever need and dream of, she felt something was lacking. Her sheer existence on this planet did not fulfil her life's purpose.

She worked, assisted, and prospered, yet she was unable to shake the feeling of belongingness in the world.

Although she didn't think of herself as a remarkable woman, deep down in her heart, she knew she was also not meant to live as a commoner in this world.

Heather Crown was confident that her purpose of existence was significant. She had a burning feeling that something pertinent was in store for her, but she could not put her finger on it.

Each day she lived with the hope that she would find her goal, but at the end of every day, when she was about to lay in her bed in disappointment, the only thing she felt was a mild satisfaction of aiding the folks of her village who adopted her as one of their own.

But it did not deter her willingness to not give up. She had not yet found her inner calling, but that did not stop her from pursuing her passion and using her abilities to assist others in need.

Presently she was standing in the store in need of herbs which could curb the pain and heal the wounds.

"Good day, Heather. What can I get for you today?" Mr. Oscar greeted her while he kept the money in one of his drawers.

Mr. Oscar is a hundred-and-two-year-old man who has been running the medical emporium along with his sixty-year-old son, twenty-five years old grandson, and his hundred-and-fifty-year-old ancient father. Heather has always appreciated his and his family's zeal for business and helping others along the way.

Their emporium had been in operation in the village since the inception of the Oscars family.

Oscar's talent for dealing with and distributing herbs is well-known across the community. Whether for sous-vide or medical uses. The Oscar Emporium is the place to go for herbs.

Whatever sort of herbs you desire, they will obtain it for you with an honest smile on their face, and this is one of the prime reasons for their success.

“I am currently running low on Curcuma longa,” Heather answered him.

"I will get it for you. We just received a shipment of the new batch of Tanacetum parthenium. Would you like me to wrap that as well?"

Oscars has always been able to sell her some extra herbs, and it always came to her help when she least anticipated it, as well as the other folks from what they had shared. It was as though they had a sixth sense for it.

Even though she did not require Tanacetum Parthenium, she nonetheless agreed to purchase it. One never knows what one might need in case of an emergency.

"Certainly," Heather answered politely with a thankful smile.

Oscars always had a bizarre sense of hearing a person's aid before one even knows. One might consider their suggestion of selling extra items as a business strategy, but people in this village have known the Oscars for their goodwill. Moreover, it had been a long time since she had stopped questioning their capabilities and accepted whatever they offered graciously.

She gave him the cents for the things she had purchased and continued talking with him for a little while about the family's health before cycling back to her home, which was not too far from the emporium.
