I was walking under the scorching heat of the sun. I'm trying to look for a job since according to Dr. Perez, my mom has a breast cancer, stage 2. I'm the youngest in the family and the only one who's left to look for my parents since both my elder brother and sister was working abroad to supply our needs. But of course, given the expensive goods and high bills, the money that they're sending to us was not enough especially now that they already have their own families.

A lot of people were walking pass through me, talking about stuffs like how strict their bosses were, how overloaded their works today and I even heard a couple fighting over husband's cheating issues. I didn't mind them and just continue walking along the busy street of Nahoma.

I graduated just a month ago. I planned to rest a bit, even just for a month to atleast give myself a break after a bloody academic year but my bill says no so here I am, looking for a hiring company. I already went to like, five companies and both of them told me the typical line from companies who doesn't want to hire you.

I frustratedly sat down on a bench here in the park. My feet were hurting and I'm so hungry since it's past lunch. I expected that I'll have a job before lunch but those expectations suck. I never thought finding a job will leave me hungry.

I stared at the children happily playing together with their parents. They look so innocent about the problems this life could offer. I never experienced to be brought to the park and to enjoy childhood because my parents told me to just study and study because playing will not give me a bright future. I was deprived of playing children my age did.

I glanced at my watch and I saw that it's already 2PM. I heard my stomach churned but I ignored it. I have to find a job first before I'll take my lunch so I stood up and continued searching for any hiring company.

It took me quite a while before I saw one. I entered the building and was greeted by a smiling lady guard. I smiled at her in return then she led me to the front desk where a lady greeted me with a smile. I thanked the guard before following the lady. She led me in front of the door which I think is the interrogation room so I thanked her before she walked away.

I fixed my messy hair first and did some retouch before I entered. I saw a woman in her late 30s, probably the HR manager. I sat in the love chair in front of her and handed her the envelope that contains my application form and some legal documents. She scanned it meticulously, not wanting to spot any unverified nor fake information.

After a few minutes, she looked at me straight in the eye and by the looks of it, I already knew I'll go home without any good news.

"I see, Ms. Rowan. You're a graduate of BSA and you had a good grades back in college. You have a good credentials, however, you're lacking in experience which happened to be very important if you want to become a part of the company so I'm very sorry," she stated. Even if I already expected it, it still made my shoulder fall and I felt like I'm gonna cry.

"Can't I just have my experience here, Ma'am?" I politely asked.

"I'm sorry but no. We only accept those who have experience for atleast 3 years. Better find another company that accepts fresh graduates like you," she said with an apologetic look.

I heaved a sigh before I stood up. I bid her goodbye before I went out. My heart felt so heavy and just a little trigger, and I'm surely gonna cry. I'm not used to rejections and this is so new to me.

For the fifth time, a company rejected me just because I still don't have an experience. How are we able to have an experience if they won't let us work there? Most companies accept only those experienced one. This sucks!

I heard my stomach growled once again so I decided to finally eat my late lunch. In front of the last company for today is my favorite fast food chain where we used to spend our Sundays before.

I absentmindedly crossed the road, my mind is filled with thoughts about how we're able to sustain my mom's medications plus the other bills.

When I was about to take another step forward, I felt someone pushed me to the concrete road, making me kiss it. I touched my nose and saw blood. My lips was also really painful that made me winced. My head was throbbing and I felt like I'm gonna explode.

I saw a pair of hands that scoop me. I'm about to protest but that someone held me firmly, making me unable to move so I just let him. I could feel his heavy breathing and his heart was beating so fast. I could feel that he's running that made me almost puke but luckily managed to stop it.

I heard a car door opened and he laid me probably in the backseat. I opened my eyes and I saw a familiar set of eyes. His eyes were laced with concern and worry and that's the last thing I saw before everything went black.
