Rage

A fainted whisper makes the sides of my lips curl into a hidden smirk. My hands slip into the pocket of my white coat as I strode into the hallway of this place.

A 12-hour shift makes my body ache from too much standing for a day. But as a werewolf, I cannot stop myself from hearing the giggles of the nurses and some female doctors as I walk past them.

“ I never saw a surgeon operate that meticulously and fast plus he’s damn hot,” a nurse whispers to his co-worker and it makes me proud of myself but that doesn’t mean that she will have my attention.

Rule number one, do not let anyone in your life. Especially humans and specifically hunters. Being a surgeon, I have to deal with everyone and I needed this cover-up to hide my real identity. Our real identity.

The white paintings of the walls provide nausea for me. It didn’t matter that I’ve been doing this for almost three years now but this place makes me sick for I know that somehow, I have the solution for the human to not be sick.

Just one bite and they won’t need to deal with weakness and diseases. One bite and their life will change, especially their strength.

One bite, one bite that our family forbids to give to anyone for a bite from the original family is either a curse or a gift. It is a power that everyone wants but everyone should be afraid of.

The myth isn’t real. Werewolves don’t just bite and they will become automatically strong. Maybe, some of it is real but they don’t include the fact that werewolf is stuck into this form until they die.

“ Going home early, Dr. Clarkson?” A voice said behind me as I open the door of my black Porsche, that annoying voice.

Without showing any emotions, I throw my bag and strip my coat, fold it before throwing it into my passenger seat. The man in front of me is grinning, the usual grin of an asshole who only knows how to annoy me.

I looked at him and leaned into my car, crossing my arms into my chest. “ Why do you care, Joseph?” I sharply said.

He whistles and puts his hands into the air as he chuckles to himself. “ Woah. Chill out, Alpha. I just wanted to report that we already made our association with the Horan pack and they are itching to meet you,” he said.

My fingers automatically rose to the air, wiggling it and signaling him to come forward. Joseph did, and I didn’t wait for him to be close to me, I just gripped his neck and pinned him into the hood of my car. The parking lot is isolated and he hissed because of what I did.

“ Don’t call me Alpha, Joseph. Not in a public place. Did you already forget how our family got slaughtered because of these humans?” I growl into him before pushing him out of my way,

Joseph cracked his neck and wipe his face before looking at me. “ I’m sorry, Dr. Clarkson. I’ll be careful next time,” he said and I only nodded before going inside of my car and driving home.

Jospeh is one of my brothers who loves to be an asshole every time. He doesn’t know his place and how to be careful around. For the past years, we’ve been hiding in the shadows of being normal human beings to save ourselves from getting killed.

Werewolves are just a myth but they don’t know that we really exist and we are just lurking around waiting for our time to dominate the world again.

My house is a two-hour drive from the hospital and when I arrived, I felt tired from the long drive so I slumped myself to the bed.

No one will disturb me here since my house is in the center of a forest which I legally owned. A house far from the city life and where I am free to hunt because that is my nature. A house far from the humans where I don’t need to hide from the shadows of being a doctor.

I am not a doctor. I am an alpha. The Alpha of the original family of werewolves, which is killed by hunters years ago.

Five of us only survived, and I don’t intend to make it less.

Loud thunders and lightning wake me up from a deep slumber. I looked up at the clock and realize that I dozed off for five hours. The darkness of my room fills my sight as I lazily rose to my feet to get a glass of water to my kitchen. I only realized that I sleep with my work clothes as I strode to my living room and passed into the glass window.

Is there a storm? I asked myself as I heard the loud thunder and gushing of the winds. No one announces it earlier and I guess, it's been raining for an hour now.

My throat feels refreshed as I gulped the cold water and strode back to my living room however a knock on my door suddenly makes me awake.

Who the fuck would knock in the middle of a forest? My brows furrowed and concentrated my hearing on the person outside. As a werewolf, we have the ability to hear twenty-fold the normal human beings but it didn’t help me at all for I can only hear grunts and hard breathing.

The knocking became furious and needy that it almost breaks my door. I don’t have any choice but to open the door and kill whoever is knocking into the den of a wild beast like me.

No one comes out of here alive. Not without my mercy and permission.

A flash of light into the darkness of the sky blinded me for a second as I open the door and stare at the person who’s knocking on my door.

Her face looks pale, her bow-shaped lips are dry and trembling because she is drenching from the rain. I looked at her right hand as she grabbed my shoulder but then I was stunned to see the red stain in her white shirt.

This woman is bleeding and for the first time, I panicked because I saw blood. She was mumbling words and trying to say something until she passed out and at the right moment, I angled my body to catch her from falling.

“Fuck, are you okay?” I asked, trying to fucking absorb what the hell happened but her eyes are closed and her body is trembling because she is too cold from the rain.

Her one hand is clutching his stomach and I realized that she’s been stabbed. As a werewolf, my nature is to hunt and kill but as a doctor, my nature is to help those who are in sickness.

I exhaled and think about what should I do however, a moment later, I just found myself carrying the woman into my own arms and walking into my own room as an unfamiliar feeling rose from my chest.

Why would I suddenly be afraid to let this woman die outside?
